Casino Night Tickets - Kingaroy
The Nanango Funfest Committee will be running a box office at Kingaroy Shoppingworld today to sell tickets to their up-coming Casino Night at the Nanango Cultural Centre on August 1. Last year's Casino Night was one of the surprise successes of 2014 and drew rave reviews. This year's event is a fundraiser for the Nanango New Years Eve Mardi Gras and will follow the same formula, with professional croupiers and casino tables from Brisvegas, live entertainment by Jeff Hancox and a whole lot more. Friday Afternoon Scroungers - Nanango
The Nanango Bowls Club in Henry Street will be holding their reglar Friday Afternoon Scroungers at 3:00pm. New players are welcome. More details from the club: (07) 4163-3363.
#saveOURhospital Community Breakfast
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding a Free Community Breakfast outside the South Burnett Private Hospital in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to 8:30am this morning to thank the public for supporting the campaign to keep the facility operating in the region. Mayor Wayne Kratzmann will officially announce the number of submissions the campaign received in the last week, and there'll be free tours of the hospital available as well. Kingaroy's Super IGA have donated all the food for the breakfast and Kingaroy Rotary have donated all the labour to prepare it. Everyone is welcome!
Country Music Night - Nanango
An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Jackpot Karaoke - Wondai
A Jackpot Karaoke Night with popular South Burnett entertainers Love2Sing will be held at the Warana Hotel in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 7:30pm until late tonight. St Mary's Rock On Stage - Kingaroy
St Mary's Catholic College in Kent Street, Kingaroy will be presenting "St Mary's Rock On Stage" in the school's Maryknoll Centre from 5:00pm onwards tonight (when a sausage sizzle fires up in the forecourt - performance starts at 6:00pm). The concert is a fundraiser for the Bacolod Kindergarten in the Phillipines, and students from all of St Mary's grades will be performing in what promises to be a fun night out for parents, students and anyone else who'd like to come along, see the show and support a good cause.
Star Weaving Session - Murgon
Graham House Comunity Centre at 21 Taylor Street East in Murgon will be holding a Friday star weaving session from 10:00am to 12:00 noon this morning in support of the One Million Stars to End Violence international weaving project. These sessions are free to attend and weaving materials are provided. The group aim to weave 4,615 stars in the South Burnett before 2018. Friday Morning Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be running bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? Friday Night Sax - Wondai
The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing at the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Coverty Creek Social Club Meeting
The Coverty Creek Community Development and Social Club will be holding its regular Friday night social gathering at the Red Shed at 198 Coverty Road, Coverty from 5:00pm until around 10:00pm tonight. The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). Friday Night Rugby League - Kingaroy
If you fancy a bit of rugby league action with a difference tonight, Kingaroy's U16 side will be playing Cherbourg in the President's Cup competition at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 5:15pm. This will be followed by an U14s game between both teams 6:30pm. After this, the Red Ants' U14s and U16s women's teams will be playing against Kawana in semi-finals in the Women's competition. The U14s will hit the field at 7:30pm and they'll be followed by the U16s at 8:30pm. A bar and canteen will be operating in the grounds and spectators are very welcome!
Mr Q - Murgon

South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
