Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery will be opening their sixth monthly exhibition for 2015 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight in the newly refurbished Gallery building on the roundabout at Wondai. This month, the Gallery will be featuring three different exhibitions: “Near And Far” by popular Brisbane artist Lance Lamb in the main gallery; “2 Hot Chicks” - a joint exhibition of encaustic art by Betty Descovich and Gwen Olm in the front gallery; and “Winter Warmth in Wondai” by the the Graham House Spinners and Weavers Group in the third gallery. Children from Cherbourg State School will be exhibiting in Kidz Korner as well. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from Cranes Winery, live entertainment and great socialising. Yarraman Ladies Bowls Club Meeting

Raising Hell In Maidenwell Car Show & Shine
The first day of the three-day Raising Hell In Maidenwell Car Show 'N' Shine will be held at the Maidenwell Sportsgrounds (right next to the Maidenwell Hotel) all day today. This popular event - which is run by the South Burnett Gas Guzzlers to support local charities - is a campout weekend featuring live music; a big Show'n'Shine focussing on hot rods, street machines and pre-1975 customs; and vintage and veteran caravans. Today's activities will largely focus on setting up camp (for guests spending the full weekend), meeting the neighbours and getting acquainted - the main public day is tomorrow - but there'll be some entertainment at the hotel and in the grounds this afternoon and evening (including a gold coin donation welcome BBQ and drinks, bench session and games) plus lots of great cars to inspect. Friday Morning Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be running bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? Mystery Movie Night - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holiding a Mystery Movie Night as a special school holiday event. There'll be two different movie screenings - one from 6:00pm to 9:00am which will be open to all school-aged children; and another from 9:00pm onwards which will only be open to school children over 15 years of age. Food and beverages will be on sale at the PCYC canteen all evening; a chill out room will be available; and no early exit permits will be given without a responsible adult present. More details? An informal Country Music Night will be held at the Uniting Church Hall in Gipps Street, Nanango at 7:30pm tonight. The get-together is open to both spectators and performers, and the $2 entry fee includes supper. Everyone is welcome!
Friday Night Poker - Kingaroy
Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Friday night poker games this evening. Registration starts at 6:30pm and the first cards are dealt at 7:00pm. Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
