Wondai Spring Garden Expo
- The first day of the weekend long Wondai Spring Garden Expo will be held at the Wondai Sports Grounds off the Bunya Highway just north of Wondai's CBD from 8:00am to 4:30pm today. The Expo is one of the largest gardening shows of its type in south-east Queensland and always draws hundreds of keen gardeners every September. As well as a huge range of plant and garden-related product displays, the Expo will also feature a number of guest speakers talking on a variety of gardening topics throughout the day. Participants can also get to enjoy a Flower Show and live music. There'll be plenty of food and drink outlets dotted around the grounds, too. Wondai Country Markets
- The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's popular monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today. Today's markets will feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots and lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans available from the Gallery's new "Studio" building just a short stroll across the park. The BBQs will also be firing up from 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts for early bargain hunters. New stallholders are always very welcome (stall fees range from $10 with power and water available, if needed). Nanango Mini Market
- The Nanango Mini Market, which runs on the 4th Saturday of each month (except January) outside the Churchyard Opp Shop at the corner of Drayton and Burnett Streets in Nanango, will be running from 7:00am to around noon this morning. Apart from offering great bargains at great prices - ranging from plants to craft work, DVDs, bric-a-brac, glassware, books, jewellery, photographic work and mosaic art - the markets also have a $3 sausage sizzle, $1.00 soft drinks ($2 for a coke) and gold coin donation tea and coffee if you get peckish. Saturday Line Dancing - Wooroolin
- Line dancing classes will be held at Wooroolin Hall on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin this morning. Classes will run from 9:00am to 10:00am (beginners) and 10:30am to 12:30pm (improvers) and a small dancing fee applies to either class. Everyone is welcome.
Yarraman Markets
- The Yarraman Progress Association's Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways (ie opposite Bendigo Bank) in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets - now held on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Saturday each month - feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls. Yarraman Men's Shed

Reckless - Kingaroy

Animal Adoption Day - Wondai
- Karma's Place Rescue will be holding their 4th Saturday of the month Animal Adoption Day from 9:00am to 1:00pm at 36 Scott Street in Wondai. Puppies, adult dogs and young adult cats will all be available for adoption (a fee applies). Note: All animals will be flea and worm treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped before rehoming.
Rykes Golf Day - Kumbia
- The annual Rykes Golf Day 3 person ambrose will be plated at the Kumbia Golf Course off the Bunya Highway south-west of town today, kicking off at 10:00am. Powers Transport Golf Day - Kilkivan
- The Kilkivan Golf Club on the Wide Bay Highway south of the CBD will be hosting its annual Powers Transport Golf Day today - an 18 hole, 3 person ambrose offering loads of prizes and accompanied by an all-day BBQ. There'll be two shot gun starts - one at 6:30am and the other at 12:30pm - and juniors and non-golfers are very welcome to take part. De-Stash Craft Market - Wooroolin
- A De-Stash Craft Market will be held at Wooroolin Hall on The Bunya Highway at Wooroolin today as a fund-raiser for the hall. Arts, Culture & Heritage Workshop - Kingaroy
- The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding an Arts, Culture & Heritage Workshop at Kingaroy Town Hall's Reception Room at 45 Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 9:00am to 3:00pm today. The SBRC is currently trying to develop an Arts, Culture and Heritage Strategy which will guide spending in these areas over the next four years, and feedback from today's workshop will inform this process.
