Queensland Dairy and Heritage Museum at Murgon will receive $13,999 from the latest round of Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants to buy a mower and power bagger

Almost $300,000 in grants have been awarded to local community groups under the latest round of Gambling Community Benefit Fund grants.

A dozen not-for-profit groups will be sharing $299,893.40.

The successful applicants under Round 118 of the State Government program were announced on Tuesday.

They included:

  • Blackbutt District Community Organisation – $34,777.54 to install a shade structure and park bench
  • Blackbutt Agricultural Show Society Inc – $28,639 to upgrade facility and install a barbecue
  • Boondooma Museum and Heritage Association Inc – $9846 to buy catering equipment
  • East Nanango Rural Fire Brigade – $4381.82 to buy whitegoods
  • Kingaroy Cricket & Sports Club Inc – $26,680 to install a solar system
  • Proston Men’s Shed Inc – $35,000 to construct a storage shed
  • Queensland Dairy & Heritage Museum Murgon Inc – $13,999 to buy a mower and power bagger
  • RSPCA Kingaroy Animal Care Centre – $18,820 to buy dog beds
  • South Burnett Musical Comedy Society Inc – $35,000 to fit out shed
  • South Burnett Rugby League Inc – $35,000 to buy a bus
  • Wondai Country Club Inc – $35,000 to upgrade bowling green lights
  • Yamsion Hall Recreation Grounds Association Inc – $22,750 to paint exterior of facility

The Gambling Community Benefit Fund has distributed more than $1.158 billion in community grants since it began in 1994.

Applications for grants of up to $35,000 are now open under Round 120.
