900 head were yarded at Murgon’s fortnightly combined agents sale on September 28, with the market falling in places to levels not experienced since 2019.

The combination of dry weather and an oversupply of cattle to market is driving values down.

The market for weaner heifers, in particuloar, was very tough with few selling above $1.70/kg.

Cattle for the sale were drawn from Gayndah, Mundubbera, Boondooma, Kingaroy, Yarraman, Nanango, Kilkivan, Gunalda and the Murgon district.
