The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding a series of public meetings on February 8 and 15 to invite public input about what its priorities should be for the coming five years.

Should it put its focus into the region’s road network? Should it look at providing more community services? Should it provide facilities for younger or older people?

The answers to these types of questions will guide what the Council does through until the end of the 2022-23 financial year.

By law, all Councils are required to develop a five year Corporate Plan.

The Corporate Plan (‘what we want to achieve’) is then used to draw up annual operational plans (‘how are we going to achieve it’) and budgets (‘how are we going to pay for it’).

“Corporate Plans identify the Council’s mission, values and key strategic priorities,” Mayor Keith Campbell said.

“We have prepared a draft Corporate Plan and we’re now seeking feedback on it from the community.”

A copy of the draft plan is available at Council’s Customer Service Centres, libraries or Council’s website.
