The winner of the Nissan Micra, raffled as part of the fundraising for the Mayor’s Red Earth South Burnett flood appeal, will be presented with the keys to his new car during a Community Recovery Information Gathering Breakfast organised in Kingaroy next Wednesday (June 12).

The breakfast, from 7:00am-9:00am, will be held in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt in Glendon Street.

The South Burnett Regional Council’s Disaster Management Co-ordinator Stan Taylor said it would be an opportunity for people affected by this year’s floods to talk one-on-one with support agencies.

There will be representatives on hand from the Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries, QRAA, Agforce, BIEDO, BlazeAid, and Centacare South Burnett.

Local Government Minister Mr David Crisafulli and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington will also be available to talk to affected primary producers.

“The Community Recovery Information Breakfast is a great opportunity for our farmers, businesses and residents to gather information about financial and funding options,” Mr Taylor said.

Mayor Wayne Kratzmann said information about financial assistance is available, including the $25,000 grants, freight subsidies and low-interest loans.

Application forms for assistance from the Red Earth Flood Appeal will also be available.

CROW-FM will be broadcasting live from the forecourt.

“The breakfast is also a great opportunity to enjoy a healthy breakfast with thanks to Council’s Healthy Communities department and catch up with a neighbour,” Mayor Kratzmann said.
