South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Murgon Music Muster
The third day of the annual 5-day Murgon Music Muster will get underway at the Murgon PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon today with a bush poet's breakfast in the morning, then walk-up concert that will run all day, followed in the evening with a propfessional artists concert that will be feature 5 times Golden Guitar winning Australian singer-songwriter Amber Lawrence and award-winning country artists Felicity Urquhart and Josh Cunningham. Entry into the Muster is $35 today (or $18 for children aged 5-14) and the event will continue daily until Sunday, November 6. There'll also be a licensed bar and canteen operating on site, and camping sites ($13 per person per night for powered sites or $10 pp/pn for unpowered sites) are available if you want to stay over. Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their latest monthly exhibition for 2022 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be displaying"Memories In Miniature" by Marilyn Murray in the front gallery; "Artistic Connections" by Gail Thomas, Maggie Spenceley, Carmewl Birchley, Mary Thompson and Debra West in the main gallery; and "Variety Of Life" by Virginia Hague in the rear gallery. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from South Burnett winery Nuova Scuola, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy (opposite the peanut silos) will be opening their latest monthly exhibition from 5:00pm to around 9:00pm this evening. This month the Gallery is hosting "Geist Land", a joint exhibition by local artists Judy Brook, Bron Langford and Carmel Nott along with Brisbane artists Belinda Sinclair and Walter Stahl. Geist Land's theme is "spirits, ghosts and being" and the eerily evocative works in this show have been executed in a variety of media and styles that promise something quite extraordinary. Admission is free and everyone is welcome! Note: After tonight's opening the exhibition will remain on display daily until November 19.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo
Bingo games will be running at Kingaroy RSL from 9:30am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be multiple jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help local good causes. Everyone is welcome. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Friday Night Line Dancing - Kingaroy

Blue Light Disco - Cooyar
A Blue Light Disco will be held at Cooyar Hall on the New England Highway at Cooyar from 6:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. The disco is for young people aged under 18 and all children need to be collected by an adult. Entry is $5 and a free bus will pick up young people from Yarraman outside the Memorial Hall in Browne Street at 5:30pm and return them to the same spot by 9:30pm.
Line Dancing - Yarraman

Pistols & Peanuts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pistol Club will be holding the first day of their three-day ISSF and Blackpowder Open Shoot at their clubhouse at the corner of Harris and Redmans roads in Kingaroy today as part of this year's 60th anniversary celebrations. Blackbutt History Morning
The Blackbutt and District Tourism and Heritage Association will be holding a History Morning from 9:30am to around 12:00 noon today at the Roy Emerson Museum at the end of Hart Street in Blackbutt. This month's get-together will host a talk from Adrian Hurley about Queensland Railway history. Adrian worked with Queensland Rail and Aurizon for 40 years as a train driver, driver trainer, senior operations specialist and manager, and he is now a director of the Rattler Railway Company in Gympie. White Dove Dinner-Dance - Kingaroy
The annual White Dove Dinner-Dance will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall from 6:00pm until late this evening. The dinner has been organised by South Burnett Peace Of Mind and is aimed at people who may be homeless and/or suffering from a mental illness, as well as those in the community who support them. Music will be supplied by the Living In The 70s Band and dinner will be prepared by JC Catering, kicking off with grazing tables and followed by alternate drop mains and desserts. There'll also be a licensed bar in operation and guests are encouraged to dress in 1970s ball attire. Community BBQ Lunch - Kingaroy
A free Community BBQ Lunch will be held in the undercover area of the Kingaroy Skate Park in Somerset Street from 12:00 noon to 2:00pm today. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
