South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Linville Heritage And Arts Festival
The second (and final) day of the 3rd annual Linville Heritage And Arts Festival will be held in Linville today to celebrate 112 years since the first train arrived at the former timber town. Today the Festival will kick off with a strawberries and pancakes breakfast in the George Street Community Gardens from 7:00am to 8:00am, alongside community markets that will run inside Linville Hall and the gardens from 7:00am to noon. During the day there'll also be horse and carriage rides through town; a children's play and activity area; live music from Paul Ricketts and lunches at the Linville Hotel; and much more. Open Garden - Brooklands
Greg and Joy Patch will be holding an Open Garden at their home at 86 Boldery Road in Brooklands from 8:30am to 3:00pm today as a fundraiser for the Leukaemia Foundation. Apart from a wonderful garden display, the event will also offer morning teas, a BBQ lunch and plant and craft stalls. Admission is $5 and everyone is welcome! More details? Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Blackbutt Country Markets
The Blackbutt Lions Country Markets - run on the third Sunday of every month - will be held at Les Muller Park in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 7:00am until around mid-day today. The markets offer a wide range of locally produced arts, crafts and freshly harvested foodstuffs and everyone is welcome along!
Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Snow Business - Nanango
The South Burnett Chorale will be presenting their annual Christmas Concert - which is called "Snow Business" this year - at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church at 37 Gipps St, Nanango from 4:00pm to 5:30pm this afternoon. The Chorale will be presenting songs from Europe and America ranging from the 14th century to the modern day, including a touch of Broadway. Tickets are just $10 (which includes afternoon tea) and they can be booked online. Note: A second and final concert will be held in Kingaroy next Sunday to officially launch the region's 2022 Yuletide season.
Veterans Meet & Greet - Nanango

Tom Curtain - Kilkivan
Multiple Golden Guitar winner and horseman extraordinaire Tom Curtain will be bringing his Nothin's Gonna Stop Us Tour to the Kilkivan Showgrounds at 88 Mudlo Road, Kilkivan from 4:00pm to around 6:30pm tonight (gates open at 3:00pm). The show will feature Tom, the Katherine Outback Experience, Chris Matthews and special guests, featuring and mix of old favourites and new numbers from his Tom's recently released albums along with displays of horsemanship and working dog demonstrations that will provide fun for the whole family. A cash bar and food will also be available onsite, but guests can BYO picnic baskets if they wish (as well as chairs or rugs for seating). Tickets are $50 for adults or $35 for students aged 6-17 (under-6s are free) if purchased at the gate, or $40/$25 if purchased online. Note: If you can't make tonight's show, Tom will also be bringing the tour to Maidenwell on Saturday, December 10.
Walther Stahl Workshop - Kingaroy
Brisbane artist Walther Stahl - who has a roomful of his striking recent work on display at the Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery this month - will be running a workshop at the Gallery in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos) from 11:00am to 2:00pm today. Walther will be discussing his "Croqland" works in this RADF-funded workshop. A $10 entry fee applies, but spaces are limited so a booking is essential: 0488-793-419.
Chris Wenner - Yarraman
South Burnett entertainer Chris Wenner will be performing at the Royal Hotel in Toomey Street, Yarraman from 1:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. Admission is free. More details from the hotel on (07) 4163-8219.
Caper Farm Open Day - Benair
Bunya Red Farm, the South Burnett's multi award winning (and only) caper farm, will be holding an Open Day from 9:00am to 4:00pm today to allow guests to see how capers are produced and try this unique product themselves. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon.
