Mayor's Community Christmas Lunch - Kingaroy
The annual Mayor's Community Christmas Lunch will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from noon today. The lunch is a fundraiser for the region's disadvantaged families, providing them with food vouchers at Christmas. Today's get-together will be compered by Ros Heit and in addition to a great lunch prepared by the QCWA there'll also be live entertainment from Friends Of The Shed, plus raffles. Tickets are just $25 per head and can be obtained from any of the South Burnett Regional Council's Customer Service Centres or by phoning Council on (07) 4189-9100. Some tickets will also be available at the door today.
Kingaroy RSL Bingo
Bingo games will be running at Kingaroy RSL from 9:30am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be multiple jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help local good causes. Everyone is welcome. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Social Cards - Nanango

Twilight Markets - Blackbutt
The Avocado Festival committee will be running a Twilight Market at Les Muller Park in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 5:00pm to 9:00pm this evening as a fundraiser for next year's Avofest. The event will feature night-time markets, live music and food trucks and there's no admission. Everyone is welcome!
Nanango QCWA International Day
Nanango's QCWA branch will be celebrating its 97th birthday today with an International Day at their rooms in Fitzroy Street, Nanango that will kick off at 9:30am (for a 10:00am start). The theme of this year's International Day is "Celebrating Australia and the Pineapple" and the event will feature guest speakers, lucky door prizes, raffles, displays, a quiz and entertainment, followed by a lunch of Australian food and - of course! - pineapple. Everyone is welcome but to help plan the catering an RSVP would be greatly appreciated. You can make one by phoning Judy on 0427-205-719.
Christmas Pop-Up Shop - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Kingaroy (opposite the peanut silos) will be giving interested people a preview of their annual Christmas Pop-Up Shop from 5:00pm to 7:00pm this evening. The shop sells a wide range of high quality, hand-crafted jewellery, pottery, clothing, artworks and other giftware that is genuinely unique and very often striking and beautiful. The shop will open for trading tomorrow and will operate daily until December 23. Admission is free and everyone is welcome!
Line Dancing - Yarraman

Friday Social Golf - Proston
The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Tonight will be the last Friday night live music performance for 2022 at the Murgon Services Club, and an unnamed entertainer will be performing from 7:00pm until late tonight. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
