South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Kingaroy RSL Bingo
Bingo games will be running at Kingaroy RSL from 9:30am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be multiple jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help local good causes. Everyone is welcome. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Waste Warriors - Kingaroy & Nanango
The South Burnett Sustainable Future Network will be holding two free workshops on "Reducing, Reusing and Recycling" at the Kingaroy Library in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 10:00am this morning; and again at the Nanango Library in Drayton Street, Nanango at 12:30pm this afternoon. Interested people can also stay up to date on future workshops by following the group's Facebook page
Burger Night - Blackbutt
A burger night will be held at Blackbutt RSL at the corner of Douglas and Muir Streets at 6:00pm tonight as a fundraiser for local good causes. For $8 you can get a great, freshly-cooked beef or chicken burger and chips, and there'll also be a fish and chips or fish and salad option available, too. Take-out orders will also be accepted from 5:30pm onwards if you phone (07) 4170-0642.
Social Cards - Nanango
A social cards group will be meeting at Nanango Library in Drayton Street, Nanango from 9:30am to around 11:30am this morning to play euchre and chat. The group meets every Friday during school terms and new players are always welcome. More details? Phone Richelle on 0437-224-672.
Friday Croquet - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Croquet Club will be playing croquet games at the rear of the Kingaroy Cricket Club in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (just next to Beangrowers) from 9:00am to around 11:30am this morning. Community Gardening Group - Kingaroy
Centacare Community Connections' Kingaroy gardening group will be meeting from 9:30am to 10:00am this morning outside Centacare's offices at 15 Albert Street, Kingaroy (behind the church) to help care for the community flower and vegetable garden. Friday Social Golf - Proston
The Proston Golf Club on Brigooda Road, Proston will be holding a Friday afternoon social golf game today. Names need to be in by 2:00pm for a 2:30pm tee-off, and everyone is welcome. Snazzy Sunflowers Paint & Collage - Wondai
Artist Pat van Kempen will be running a 2-hour "Paint & Collage" course at The Studio next to the Wondai Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm to around 8:00pm tonight. Participants can enjoy a fun filled creative session during which they'll paint and collage their own your snazzy sunflower on A3 canvas using acrylics. Junior Rugby League - Cherbourg
Students from Cherbourg State School will be playing a rugby league match against students from Murgon State School at Cherbourg State School's oval at 2:00pm this afternoon. All parents and friends from both schools are very welcome to come along and watch.
Blue Light Disco - Yarraman
A Blue Light Disco will be held at the Yarraman Memorial Hall in Browne Street, Yarraman from 6:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. The disco is for young people aged under 18 and all children need to be collected by an adult. Entry is $5 and a canteen offering pizzas, sausage rolls, hot dogs, cold drinks and assorted lollies will be running as well. Note: Tonight's disco is the last one for 2022 and guests are encouraged to dress up in their best Christmas outfits to compete for prizes.
DJ Damo - Kingaroy
DJ Damo will be spinning the platters at the Commercial Hotel at the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets, Kingaroy from 8:00pm until late tonight. Admission is free. More details from the hotel on (07) 4162-1380.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:00 noon today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items). And anyone who's finding it hard to make ends meet is very welcome to make use of it. More details? Phone James on 0438-071-658.
