Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers Muster - Boondooma
The fifth day of the six-day Spirit Of The Bush Balladeers & Heritage Muster will be held at Boondooma Homestead at 8262 Durong-Mundubbera Road, Boondooma today. This popular annual campout week features lots of Australia's top bush balladeers and poets along with walk-up artists. The Muster routinely attracts 700 to 800 caravanners plus day-trippers, and in addition to bucketloads of non-stop music there'll also be great camp oven meals, a licensed bar, barbecue, stalls and historic displays. Admission is $110 per person for the festival (day rates are also available), but bookings are essential as COVID-19 restrictions apply. Tickets can be booked online. Bush camping is also available on-site and can be booked by phoning the Homestead's caretakers on (07) 4168-0159. Note: Bring cash - no EFTPOS available on site.
Community Resilience Day - Bunya Mountains
South Burnett and Western Downs Regional Councils will be jointly sponsoring a Community Resilience and Preparedness Day at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains from 9:30am to around 2:00pm today to gather feedback on a disaster and emergency evacuation management plan they've been developing for the Bunya Mountains in recent months in collaboration with the Bunya Mountains Disaster Management Group. This is something that is extremely important, given the highly dangerous situation residents and visitors would find themselves in if bushfires or flooding hit the area. Both councils and the BMDMG will be discussing the plan and gathering community feedback on it from 9:30am to 10:30am, and this will be followed by a program of family fun events from 11:00am to 2:00pm. All Bunya Mountains residents are encouraged to attend and the day is completely free.
Manumbar Campdraft
The second day of the three-day Manumbar Campdraft will be held at the Manumbar Campdraft Grounds at 3896 Manumbar Road today, kicking off at 6:00am this morning with a Restricted Open Draft and followed by Novice Draft that will continue until dusk.
