Kumbia Kindergarten Hollywood Glitz And Glam Casino Night
The Kumbia Kindergarten will be holding a special "Hollywood Glitz and Glam Casino Night" at the Kumbia Hall in Bell Street from 6:30pm until late this evening. The $60 per head admission fee includes $1,000 of play money, 3 full hours of play, 1 free drink and a smorgasbord meal. 5 professional, full-size tables with professional croupiers will be operating and play will start at 7:00pm sharp. There'll be a licensed bar running all night, a Silent SAuction, and lots of prizes to be won too - so come dressed in your best to impress! For parents, child minding will be available on the night at Kumbia Kindergarten behind the hall for just $5 per child with food, drink and entertainment supplied (let the Kindy know if your child has any special dietary needs) - children just need to bring along a pillow and blanket. 100 Years On The Block Festival - Kingaroy
Kingaroy Shire Council's 1913 Chambers are turning 100 this year and the Kingaroy Information Art and Heritage Precinct will be holding "100 Years on the Block" Festival from 10:00am to 4:00pm today to mark the occasion. There'll be market stalls, whip cracking demos, a jumping castle, face painting, the South Burnett Youth Choir singing, a BBQ and much more including a multi-draw raffle with all money raised going to local charities to help with flood recovery.
Yarraman Markets
The Yarraman Progress Association's monthly Yarraman Markets will be held on the vacant block at the corner of the D'Aguilar and New England Highways in Yarraman from 7:00am until around 1:00pm today. The markets feature trash and treasure stalls, car boot sellers, local produce and hand-made goods, as well as food stalls and an under-cover play area for children. Dance - Booie Hall
A dance will be held at Booie Hall from 7:30pm until around 11:30pm this evening. Music will be supplied by Tectonic Tones and there'll be the usual great supper, novelties and lucky door prize. Back To The 60s Night - Nanango
Here's something different! The Boots & Bulldust committee will be holding a special "Back To The 60s Night" at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street from 7:00pm until late this evening. This fully licensed happening will be compered by The 60s Guy and there'll be raffles, a lucky door prize and a prize for the best costume, as well as all the hits of the 1960s to add to the groove. Admission is $20 per head - wear your best 1960s clothing! - and this includes a 1960s take-out meal of burgers & fries or hot dog fries, backed up by an ice cream sundae for dessert. End Of Kilkivan Tom Quilty Ride
June 3-10 is Kilkivan Tom Quilty Week, and this year's ride will conclude at midnight tonight at the Kilkivan Showgrounds in Mudlo Road, Kilkivan. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!
Burrandowan Campdraft
The first day of the 2013 Burrandowan Campdraft - which was originally scheduled for February 16-17, but had to be postponed due to floods - will be held at the Burrandowan Race Course 66km west of Kingaroy over three days this weekend. Today's action will get underway at 7:00am and will be devoted to one event only: the Hugh Downes Memorial Novice Draft, which will consist of one very big round, and then a final in the afternoon. It will be followed in the evening by a Saturday night meal prepared by the Durong South P&C - a spit roast and vegies plus dessert - at $18 for adults and $10 for children. Admission to the campdraft is 100% free for spectators and there's free camping at the track too. Murgon Camera Club Meeting - Wondai
The Murgon Camera Club will be holding their regular second Saturday of the month meeting at The Studio at the rear of the Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. What's On At The Wineries This Long Weekend
All the South Burnett's wineries and cellar doors will all be open this weekend if you want to relax in their cafes and/or taste their wines. The South Burnett is the largest wine region in Queensland and (excluding the Granite Belt) larger than all the State's other wine regions put together. Ulysses Motor Cycle Club Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett's favourite motorcycle club, the Ulysses MC Burnett Branch (motto: "Grow old disgracefully") will be holding their regular 2nd Saturday of the month meeting at the Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at the corner of Haly Street and the Bunya Highway in Kingaroy from 9:00am this morning.
