South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Community Breakfast - Kingaroy
A Community Recovery Information Gathering Breakfast will be held this morning in Kingaroy. The free breakfast, from 7:00am to 9:00am will be held in the Kingaroy Town Hall Forecourt in Glendon Street. There'll be an opportunity for people affected by this year’s floods to talk one-on-one with support agencies, including representatives from the Department of Agriculture Forestry and Fisheries, QRAA, Agforce, BIEDO, BlazeAid, and Centacare South Burnett. Local Government Minister David Crisafulli and Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington will also be available to talk to affected primary producers. Application forms for assistance from the Red Earth Flood Appeal will be available too. CROW-FM will be broadcasting live from the forecourt, and the winner of the Nissan Micra, raffled as part of the fundraising for the Mayor’s Red Earth South Burnett flood appeal, will be presented with the keys to his new car.
Men's Health Week Expo - Kingaroy
There's a free "Esky Full Of Health" available for men at the Kingaroy RSL Tobruk Room from noon to 6:00pm today. There'll be displays by health service providers and opportunities for men to have a quiet chat about whatever health issue is nagging them. Guest speakers will also be discussing health issues and solutions and there'll be free giveaway draws throughout the afternoon. Men are invited to drop in at any time during the day (and women are welcome to come along, too!) For more information, contact Louise by email
St Johns Year 8 Information Night - Kingaroy
St Johns Lutheran School in Ivy Street, Kingaroy will be holding a Year 8 Information Night at 7:00pm this evening at the school's multi-purpose hall. St Johns will be expanding into Junior Secondary next year (offering Prep to Year 8 in 2014 and Prep to Year 9 in 2015), and the purpose of tonight's meeting is to explain the school's plans for educating junior secondary students (curriculum, uniforms, enrolments etc) and also answer any questions parents might have. Nanango Blue Light Open Night
The Nanango Blue Light Disco committee will be holding their regular Wednesday Open Night at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. Young people are welcome to come along for skating lessons, homework help (during school term), games and access to the computer room. Entry is $2. More details? Timbertown Woodworkers Group Meeting - Blackbutt
The Timbertown Woodworkers Group will be holding their regular Wednesday meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:00am until around 4:00pm today. South Burnett Regional Council Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding its monthly general meeting at the Glendon Street Council Chambers in Kingaroy at 9:00am this morning. Meetings are open to the public. Note: Today's meeting is being held a week earlier than usual because several Councillors will be attending an important conference next week. Meetings will resume their normal third Wednesday of the month schedule in July.
Kingaroy Lions Club Dinner Meeting
The Kingaroy Lions Club will be holding their bi-monthly Dinner Meeting at the Kingaroy Hotel at the corner of Haly and Youngman Streets in Kingaroy (opposite McDonalds) from 6:30pm onwards tonight. The Kingaroy Lions are involved in a very wide range of community activities in Kingaroy and surrounding areas all year round and anyone who's interested in joining a Lions Club (or simply socialising and seeing how Lions operate) is very welcome to come along! South Burnett Tourism Association Meeting - Booie
The South Burnett Tourism Association will be holding its bi-monthly meeting at Captains Paddock Vineyard at 18 Millers Road in Booie at 6:00pm this evening. The meeting will discuss (amongst many other things) a possible new membership and fee structure for the SBTA, as well as projects the group or teams of members might like to undertake to lift the profile of local tourism and increase tourism in the region. Anyone with an interest in the development of the South Burnett's tourism industry is very welcome to attend.
Music Explorers Meeting - Wondai
The Music Explorers group will be meeting at The Studio behind the Wondai Regional Art Gallery in Haly Street, Wondai from 7:00pm to 9:30pm this evening. This informal group allows amateur musicians and anyone with a love of music to get together to practice, play together, share tips and learn. New members are always very welcome! Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Wednesday Night Poker - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy RSL in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Wednesday night poker games this evening. Registration starts at 6:30pm and the first cards are dealt at 7:00pm. There are $150 in prizes to be won. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.
Wednesday Wipe-Outs Ten Pin Bowling - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Lively 50s&60s Social Group will be resuming their weekly Wednesday Wipe-Outs 10-Pin Bowling Morning at the Kingaroy Ten Pin Bowling Alley at 4 Irvins Street from 9:15am this morning (bowling starts at 9:30am sharp). The cost is $15.60 for three games plus a $2.00 fee that will be used towards prize monies and trophies which will be handed out out at the end of the season. Wednesday Morning Zumba - Nanango
Zumba dance fitness classes will be held at the Nanango Skating Rink in George Street, Nanango at 9:00am this evening. The class fee is $5 and everyone is welcome.

Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. Alcoholics Anonymous - Wondai
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experiences, strengths and hopes with each other to help solve their common problems and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership, and AA isn't allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution.
