Heritage Day - Murgon
The Queensland Dairy and Heritage Museum, at 2 Sommerville St, Murgon, will be holding a Heritage Day today from 9:30am to 2:30pm with lots of activities and displays, including blacksmithing, shingle splitting, spinning and rope making. There'll also be draught horses, cart rides, antique machinery and classic cars. There'll be free face-painting and a jumping castle for the kids. The Murgon Show Society will have a barbecue, and morning and afternoon tea and damper will be available. Entry price is $10 for adults (under 16s are free).
Australian Club Class Nationals & Kingaroy Cup
- The Kingaroy Soaring Club will be hosting the Australian Club Class and Two-Seat Nationals at the Kingaroy Airport from today until October 11 ... so keep an eye on the sky for all the extra gliders which will be out and about!
Kingaroy Art Gallery Opening
The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery, in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos) will opening its October exhibition from 5:00pm this evening. Entry is free and light refreshments will be served. This month's exhibitions feature artworks by popular local artists Robyn Dower and Cherry Carroll, plus an innovative art installation, "Mr McDonald" by Robyn in Gallery 2.
Go Getta Girls - Kingaroy

Family Movie Night - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Youth Council will be presenting two movies tonight at the Kingaroy Town Hall. At 6:00pm, there'll be a family screening of the film favourite Shrek. At 8:00pm, there'll be a screening for 12 to 18-year-olds of Puss In Boots - The Last Wish. Entry is free and you're invited to dress up! Pizza will be available to pre-order. Ringsfield House Open Day - Nanango
- Historic Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango, is hosting an Open Day today! Local artists will be featured in the art gallery from 9:00am to 12:30pm, plus tea and scones will be available on the verandah for $10.00 per person from 9:00am to 11:00am.
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. As a bonus, there'll also be live music today from the RocknRollaBillys from 9:00am to 11:00am. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Paws N More - Goomeri
- The Goomeri Caravan and Bush Camp, at 5939 Wide Bay Highway, Goomeri, is holding its inaugural Paws N More day today from 9:30am. There'll be talks about understanding your dog's body language, how dogs think, building bonds and nutrition tips. 4 Paws Solutions will be holding group sessions ($25) or one-on-one sessions ($40). Pig On The Spit Night - Wooroolin
The Grand Hotel on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin will be holding their monthly Pig On A Spit Night from 5:30pm until late this evening. Apart from a great roast pork meal there'll also be a Lucky Door prize, raffles and karaoke.
