Heritage Day - Murgon

The Queensland Dairy and Heritage Museum, at 2 Sommerville St, Murgon, will be holding a Heritage Day today from 9:30am to 2:30pm with lots of activities and displays, including blacksmithing, shingle splitting, spinning and rope making. There'll also be draught horses, cart rides, antique machinery and classic cars. There'll be free face-painting and a jumping castle for the kids. The Murgon Show Society will have a barbecue, and morning and afternoon tea and damper will be available. Entry price is $10 for adults (under 16s are free).

Australian Club Class Nationals & Kingaroy Cup

The Kingaroy Soaring Club will be hosting the Australian Club Class and Two-Seat Nationals at the Kingaroy Airport from today until October 11 ... so keep an eye on the sky for all the extra gliders which will be out and about!

Kingaroy Art Gallery Opening

The Kingaroy Regional Art Gallery, in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos) will opening its October exhibition from 5:00pm this evening. Entry is free and light refreshments will be served. This month's exhibitions feature artworks by popular local artists Robyn Dower and Cherry Carroll, plus an innovative art installation, "Mr McDonald" by Robyn in Gallery 2.

Nanango Country Markets

The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets.
