Relay For Life - Kingaroy

South Burnett's 2025 Relay For Life event - a fundraiser for Cancer Council Queensland - will be held at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 2:00pm to around 10:00pm today. The opening ceremony will start at 2:00pm and there will be entertainment to encourage the walkers to keep on going. The candlelight ceremony which honours friends and relatives who have succumbed to cancer will be held at 6:30pm. The closing ceremony will be held at 10:00pm. Everyone is welcome to come along to cheer the walkers on and enjoy the event, and there's no admission (although donations for the Relay are always appreciated).
South Burnett Speedway - Kingaroy
The 2025-26 South Burnett Speedway season will roar into life at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy tonight. The "Open Wheeler Opener" is going pink as part of the South Burnett's "Pink Up October" fundraising month for the McGrath Foundation, so dress in your best pink outfit (there'll be prizes!). Out on the track, the racing will feature Round 2 of the
Speedcars Country Series, 360/LS Sprint Cars, Formula 500 Juniors & Seniors, Lightning Sprints, Compact Speedcars and Wingless Sprints. There'll be canteen facilities operating onsite, and campsites are available in the Showgrounds if you want to stay over. Gates will open at 2:00pm, racing will start at 4:00pm and the excitement will continue until around 10:30pm tonight. Admission is $30 for adults, $20 for students (with ID) and aged or disability pensioners; or $85 for a family of two adults and two students (children 12 and under are free). Everyone is welcome!
Olivia! - Kingaroy
Months of rehearsals will come to fruition this morning when the talented students at St John's Lutheran School in Kingaroy bring the musical Olivia! to life during their second performance in the school auditorium in Ivy Street. Family members, friends and community members have been invited to come along to experience the fun! Today's performance starts at 11:00am (doors open at 10:30pm). Please make a donation at the door. Two Sides Of Love - Sandy Ridges
- DIVA at the Dairy Productions is presenting a two-act musical play at Adavale Farm, 2172 Burnett Highway, Sandy Ridges, from 2:00pm this afternoon. The musical will be performed under a shady tree. There'll also be home-made muffins and scones with jam and cream plus tea, coffee and cold drinks. The play will feature Louise Winton and Robert Storrie. Yarraman Country Markets

Go Getta Girls - Kingaroy

Annual Ball - Inverlaw
The Farmers Hall at Inverlaw - on the Burrandowan Road (roughly 20km from Kingaroy) - will be hosting its annual ball, "A Night To Remember" from 8:00pm until late this evening. Oktoberfest - Murgon

Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
- The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
Cool Change - Nanango
Little River Band tribute band Cool Change will be playing at the Commercial Hotel, 69 Drayton Street, Nanango, tonight. Doors open at 6:00pm with the music getting under way at 7:00pm. - Nanango Kennel Club Rally is holding a two-day rally this weekend at the Alan Downie Sportsfields in Burnett Street. There will be rally and obedience trials from 5:00pm this evening and 7:00am tomorrow. The canteen will be operating on both days.
Barefoot Bowls - Proston
Proston State School P&C is holding a Barefoot Bowls night at the Proston Bowls Club as a fundraiser for the school's Ag team. Bowls will start at 5:00pm ($5 per person), followed by a pig-on-the-spit dinner or steak ($20 for adults or $10 for children under 15) from 6:00pm. - South Burnett Quarter Horse Cutters will be hold a two-day fundraiser this weekend at Murgon Sportsground, with cutting competitions and auctions to support the McGrath Foundation.
South Burnett Cricket
The South Burnett Cricket Association's junior and senior competitions will get under way today at locations across the South Burnett. Junior Stage 2 and Stage 3 cricketers will be mustering at Murgon Sportsground from 8:00am. In the SBCA Senior competition, Wondai Wolves v Murgon Diggers at Wondai Cricket Ground; Kingaroy Services v Nanango Scorpions at Taabinga State School, and Wooroolin Warriors v Saints at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy. Senior games start at 12:30pm. In the Gympie A Grade competition, Murgon Crusaders will take on Harlequins at Murgon Sportsgrounds from 12:30pm in Day 2 of Round 2 of the two-day competition.
L & D Bike Show - Cooyar

Bell Rodeo
Bell Show Society's "Raisin' Hell At Bell" rodeo will kick off at 5:00pm this evening at the Bell Showgrounds in Wallace Street, Bell (gates open at 3:30pm). Tickets are $20 for adults (under 15s free). As well as the bull and bronc action, there'll be market stalls, food stalls and free face-painting for the kids. Kilkivan PBR Bullride
- Professional Bull Riders (PBR) is returning to the Kilkivan Showgrounds, at 88 Mudlo Road. Gates open at 5:00pm with the action getting under way at 7:00pm. There'll also be live entertainment from Zac Cross Band until midnight. Tickets can be booked online or pay at the gate. Adults $55, children $30 or $150 for a family.
