Caulfield Cup Day Races - Wondai
The South Burnett Race Club will be holding its annual Wondai Races Caulfield Cup Meeting at the Wondai race track in Baynes Street, Wondai from around 11:30am today, and one highlight will be the annual running of the Roy & Glenis Radunz Wondai Cup. The theme of today's meeting is "Bright and Bold" and guests are encouraged to dress to this theme to be in the running for great prizes in the Fashions Of The Field competition. As usual, there'll be live telecasts of Brisbane and interstate races in the undercover bookies ring, a licensed bar, food stalls and canteen. Today's meeting will feature a full card of five races (check out the Form Guide) and entry to the track is just $10. Wondai's Caulfield Cup meeting is always the South Burnett Race Club's biggest meeting of the year and everyone is welcome! More details? Phone the race club on (07) 4168-5530. CROW-FM 30th Birthday - Wondai
CROW-FM will be celebrating its 30th birthday from 9:00am to 1:00pm today in and around the station building on the corner of the Bunya Highway and Haly Street, Wondai. There'll be live music, giveaways, the Wondai Lions Club will have a barbecue going, there'll be a garage sale happening and tours of the station will be available. Amber Goldsmith, Chris Wenner and Jarrod Edwards will be providing the live music.
Red Ants Presentation Night - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Red Ants rugby league football club will be holding their 2025 Senior Presentation Night and Reunion from 5:00pm this evening at the clubhouse at T.J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street. The night will also be celebrating the 1975 and 2005 premiership teams reunion. Tickets are $60 and can be booked online
Shrek The Musical - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting their debut performance of "Shrek The Musical" at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 6:30pm tonight. This family fun production tells the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess. Tickets to see Shrek The Musical are $30 for adults or $20 for students/concessions and they can be booked online or purchased at the door. Note: There'll be three more performances: a matinee performance tomorrow at 1:00pm; an evening performance next Saturday and a matinee performance next Sunday.
Heritage Waterhole Rocks - Nanango
Day 4 of the 11th annual Heritage Waterhole Rocks rock'n'roll campout festival will get under way at 9:30am this morning and run through until about 10:30pm tonight at Nanango Showgrounds. The festival is devoted to all things associated with 1950s and 1960s rock'n'roll. There'll be market stalls, a licensed bar and lots and lots of dancing! On stage today will be The Dodgie Rockers, Buddy Love and The Tremors and Little Stevie and The Tailfins. A Fashions Competition will also be held at 1:00pm. Admission today is $25 (or you can get an all-event pass for $60). Sunday is free. Powered and unpowered camping sites are also available if you want to bunk down in the showgrounds. Go Getta Girls - Kingaroy

Elvis Tribute Show - Blackbutt
An Elvis Tribute Night will be held from 7:30pm this evening at Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Bowman Road, Blackbutt. Tickets are $25 (children free) which includes the show, snacks and one free drink). Wakka Wakka Nation - Murgon
Ngoorrko Yumpaykal Liddy has invited Wakka Wakka and Kabi Kabi people to attend a celebration to mark the anniversary of a friendship agreement between the two groups which will be held from 9:00am today at Murgon Town Hall in Lamb Street. There'll be a corroboree at noon, followed by lunch and a pre-loved fashion show.
Canapes By The Creek - Kilkivan
Kilkivan P-10 P&C will be hosting another of their popular Canapes By The Creek evenings at the Kilkivan Showgrounds at 66 Mudlo Road, Kilkivan from 6:00pm until around midnight tonight. This black tie event offers guests gourmet canapes prepared by celebrity chef Matt Golinski, served by Kilkivan SHS students. There'll also be live entertainment by Chordless and a silent auction. Tickets are $130 per head. Overnight camping and Sunday breakfast will be available on site for a small extra charge. The evening is to support the Kilkivan P-10 P&C. Tickets can be booked online.
Kingaroy Friendship Markets
The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around noon today. The markets feature a range of arts, crafts, food stalls, fruit and garden stalls, plus unusual bric-a-brac. New stallholders are always very welcome.
Wondai Races After Party
Popular South Burnett duo Sue Bradley and Geoff Grevell will be playing live music at the Wondai RSL Sub-Branch Club in Mackenzie Street, Wondai, from 6:30pm this evening. Sue and Geoff will be playing classics, country and rock'n'roll ... and there's plenty of room for dancing! Meals will also be available from the Barracks Bistro. Everyone is welcome and admission is free!
Saturday Library Day - Maidenwell
The volunteers from the Maidenwell QCWA will be supervising the regular weekly Saturday Library Day (featuring books loaned from Kingaroy Library) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. A library day is held in the Maidenwell Hall in Pool Street every Wednesday and Saturday.
Proston Country Markets
The monthly Proston Community Markets - held on the 3rd Saturday of each month - will be running outside the QCWA Rooms at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston from 8:00am this morning. Stalls feature crafts, plants as well as gifts and bric-a-brac. There'll also be a raffle, sausage sizzle and hot and cold drinks. All stalls welcome!
Bingo Buzz - Nanango
A new Saturday morning bingo session is starting today at the Nanango Cultural Centre, on the corner of Drayton and George Streets. Doors open at 10:00am with eyes down at 11:00am. Bring your friends for a fun day playing bingo!

The 14th annual Dusty Day Out will be held at Dusty Hill Vineyard in Moffatdale from 11:00am to 11:45pm tonight. The South Burnett Cricket Association's junior and senior games will be played today at locations across the South Burnett. In Stage 2, Kookaburras v Cobras at Taabinga State School and Murgon v Nanango 1 at the River Road Ground in Kingaroy. In Stage 3, Kingaroy v Nanango at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy. Stage 2 & 3 games start at 8:00am. In Round 2 of the South Burnett Senior competition, Nanango Scorpions v Saints at Alan Downie Sports Fields, Nanango; Murgon Diggers v Kingaroy Services at Murgon Sportsgrounds; and Wooroolin Warriors v Wondai Wolves at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy. Senior games start at 12:30pm.
