Art Gallery Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their eighth monthly exhibition for 2016 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting the 18th annual South Burnett Regional Art Competition, which showcases works in art, photography, sculpture and ceramics categories created exclusively by South Burnett artists. The competition offers $4800 in prize monies, including a $1500 South Burnett Acquisitive sponsored by the South Burnett Regional Council, and is the biggest art competition of its kind in the region. Tonight's opening will also launch this year's South Burnett & Cherbourg On Show long weekend festival of events, and it will be followed by the festival's Sample The South Burnett & Cherbourg Dinner across the road at Dimities Cottage, followed by an After Party with Muddy Flats the 102-year-old Wondai Hotel & Cellar (see entries below). As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from a South Burnett winery, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. Admission is $5 and everyone is welcome to attend. More details? Phone the Gallery on (07) 4168-5926.
