Watoto Children's Choir - Murgon
The acclaimed Watoto Children's Choir will be appearing in concert at the Murgon Town Hall in Gore Street, Murgon at 7:00pm this evening as part of their "Oh What Love" tour - an inspirational night of African singing and dancing. Watoto is a non-profit organisation that cares for orphans in Uganda, and the choir is composed entirely of Ugandan orphans. The group have performed in the South Burnett many times over the years, and they will also be performing at Wondai Town Hall tomorrow night. Admission to the concert is free and everyone is welcome.
Long Range Weather Forecasting - Wooroolin
- Hayden Walker, regarded by many as Australia's most accurate long range weather forecaster, will be giving a talk at Wooroolin Hall on the Bunya Highway in Wooroolin at 1:30pm today (talk starts at 2:00pm). Hayden will discuss how he and his team forecast weather patterns and then distribute these to the media, farmers, commercial fishermen and others interested in what the weather might be like at certain times or during certain seasons. Danny's Diner - a free community dinner - will be held at the Uniting Church Hall at the corner of Alford and Youngman streets in Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 7:00pm tonight. The dinner is an initiative of the Kingaroy District Ministry Association for the benefit of anyone who's hungry or otherwise doing it tough.
