Spring Cent Auction - Nanango
The Nanango RSL Citizen's Auxiliary will be holding their 3rd annual Spring Cent Auction at Taras Hall next to the Nanango RSL in Henry Street, Nanango this afternoon. Doors will open at 11:30am so early birds can inspect all the items on offer and formulate their bidding strategies. The auction itself will get underway at 1:00pm and conclude at around 3:00pm. There'll be lots of great items up for grabs and the $5 admission includes a free sheet of tickets, an entry in the Lucky Door prize and a great afternoon tea. Proston QCWA Car Boot Sale
The Proston QCWA will be holding their annual Car Boot Sale in the QCWA's grounds in Rodney Street, Proston from 8:00am this morning (set up begins at 7:30am). This is a great once-a-year opportunity to sell off unwanted items or pick up a bargain, and stall fees are a slim $5. As usual, the QCWA will also be running a craft stall and providing a great morning tea for just $2:00 if you get peckish. There'll also be an auction at around 11:30am. More details? Stall bookings? Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to around 12:00 noon today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and routinely attract 320 to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Val Litzow Memorial Golf & Bowls Day - Wondai
The Wondai Country Club on the Bunya Highway north of Wondai's CBD will be holding their annual Val Litzow Memorial Golf & Bowls Day today. Activities will kick off at 9:00am with a 2-person ambrose, followed by a BBQ lunch, and then 4-person lawn bowls at 1:00pm. There'll be lots of prizes to be won and everyone is welcome. Little Shop Of Horrors - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Musical Comedy Society will be presenting the final two performances of this year's production "Little Shop Of Horrors" at the Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy at 2:00pm this afternoon (a matinee) and 7:30pm this evening. Little Shop Of Horrors is a 1980s comedy rock musical about a hapless florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human beings. The main characters are Seymour Krelborn, who runs the florist shop for his overbearing boss Mr Mushnik, and Seymour’s love interest Audrey, who wants to leave her abusive dentist boyfriend Orin. The show’s music, composed by Alan Menken in early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and Motown styles, includes several well-known tunes ... and as the play goes on, the plant steadily grows bigger and hungrier, eating one character after another. Tickets to see the show are $15 for the afternoon matinee or $25 for adults, $20 for pensioners and $15 for children for the evening performance, and they'll be available at the door.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Music Trivia Night - Yarraman
The Yarraman P&C Association will be holding a Music Trivia Night at the Yarraman School Hall in John Street, Yarraman from 6:00pm tonight (game play starts at 7:00pm sharp). Play will be in teams of 4 to 6 players and all guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite singer or movie star to be in the running for some great prizes. There'll be $500 in trivia prize money to be won, and playing fees are $10 per person. There'll also be a licensed bar in operation, free nibbles, hot food available and - for parents - a Kids Korner with games and activities to keep children amused. Proston Men's Shed
The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at the old railway station building at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for its regular Saturday morning meeting today, kicking off with a cuppa at 9:00am. Saturday Rugby League - Kingaroy
South Burnett rugby league fans need to head to T. J. O'Neill Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy today. The action will kick off at 9:00am with round robin matches for the U6's/8's/10's. This will be followed at 10:30am with the U12s Grand Final between Kingaroy and Central Burnett, then an U14s girls match at noon between Kingaroy and Hervey Bay. At 1:00pm, the U14s Grand Final will be played between Cherbourg and Wondai, and this will be followed at 2:30pm with an U16s girls match between Kingaroy and Hevey Bay, before things conclude at 3:30pm with the U16s Grand Final between Central Burnett and the combined Wondai/Nanango team. A bar and canteen will be operating on the grounds and spectators are very welcome!
Spring In The Square - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy District Ministers Assocation will be holding Spring in the Square at O'Neill Square in Kingaroy from 10:00am this morning. The event is an annual fundraiser to raise money for chaplains in Kingaroy's three state schools, and students from all three schools will be showcasing their talents. There will also be a decorated plate competition, and plenty of other things to keep the whole family entertained.
Beyond Blue Day - Nanango
A Beyond Blue Day to raise funds for Beyond Blue will be held at the Palace Hotel in Drayton Street, Nanango from 2:00pm to around 9:00pm today. There'll be lots of live music led by Ziggy And The Copycat Killers, Funadix and Rough As Guts, along with raffles all day offering great prizes. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
SBLETS Picnic And Trading Day - Proston
An SBLETS Picnic and Trading Day will be held at the QCWA Hall in Rodney Street, Proston at 10:00am this morning. LETS (Local Energy Trading System) is a local barter and exchange system, and this morning's get-together will explain how it all works and allow you to meet existing members, and join up yourself if you think it's a good thing. Everyone is welcome!

The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today.
