South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Blackbutt Camera Club Meeting
The Blackbutt Camera Club will be holding a meeting at the Uniting Church Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 4:00pm to 8:00pm this evening. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month except December and January. The first Wednesday is devoted to practical photography (bring your own camera and equipment) and the third Wednesday to a review of those images and talks and tips on software (bring your laptop), followed by a committee meeting at 7:00pm. Ocean Commotion Kids Club - Murgon
The Barambah Ministers Association will be running an Ocean Commotion Kids Club at The Shed at Murgon State School from 9:30am to around 1:00pm today. This school holiday activity is aimed at children aged 4 to 13 and offers free fun, sports, crafts and friendship. A free little lunch will be provided, too, and there will be a bus picking up children from Wondai at 9:00am at Coronation Park in the centre of town and leaving at 9:20am (sign in will be at the bus) which will bring the children back to the same place around 1:15pm. There will also be a bus pickup at Cherbourg at around 9:30am (leaving around 10:15am) and dropping the children back at around 12:30pm. All young children are welcome.
QCWA Twilight Branch Meeting - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy QCWA Twilight Branch will be holding their third Wednesday of the month meeting at the QCWA Rooms next to Kingaroy RSL in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to around 8:00pm tonight (when it will conclude with a light supper). The Twilight Branch is a new branch of the QCWA which is designed for working women and busy mums. It meets in the evenings and is separate from the traditional Kingaroy branch (which meets during the day). The Twilight Branch is open to all women who'd like to take part in QCWA activities and/or find out more about this highly respected community organisation. New members are always very welcome! South Burnett Regional Council Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Regional Council will be holding its monthly general meeting at the Glendon Street Council Chambers in Kingaroy at 9:00am this morning. Meetings are open to the public.
Matt Brooker @ The Shed - Nanango
Latin fusion guitarist Matt Brooker will be performing at The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott car park) in a free concert at 7:00pm this evening. Timbertown Woodworkers Group - Blackbutt
The Timbertown Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Wednesday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. Seniors Having A Ball - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a "Seniors Having A Ball" exercise class from 8:30am to 9:30am this morning. The program is designed to address the issues that many have with ageing and it's not just for seniors! It provides light exercise to keep the heart and joints moving, improving coordination and mobility. It also provides a beginner platform to start any fitness activity on. As well as physical fitness, it also has a fun social atmosphere too. The class fee is just $4 for PCYC members or $7 for non-members. More details? Nanango Country Quilters & Crafts Group
The Nanango Country Quilters And Crafts group meet every Wednesday at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango between 9:00am to 2:00pm. Members can get to pursue a wide variety of crafts at these informal gatherings and the $3 meeting fee includes morning tea (but BYO cup and lunch). There's also usually a raffle as well. The Kingaroy Carers Group will be holding their regular third Wednesday of the month meeting at the Kingaroy RSL's Function Room in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 10:30am to 12:30pm this morning. The group is open to anyone who acts as a carer. It's designed to provide a social and networking outlet for carers, who often find themselves isolated by their role. Family Fun Day - Kingaroy
A free Family Fun Day organised by South Burnett CTC and the State Government will be held at Memorial Park in Kingaroy from 11:00am to 2:00pm today. There'll be free face-painting, a slip 'n' slide, a free sausage sizzle, a Teddy Bears picnic and more, and all you need to bring are swimming togs, a towel, a teddy and a picnic basket. There'll also be a police versus youth touch footy competition at 11:00am. Children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult, and everyone is welcome!
SBRC Listening Tour - Wondai
South Burnett councillors will be at the Wondai Town Hall in Mackenzie Street, Kingaroy from 5:30pm to 7:30pm this evening to listen to any concerns Wondai, Tingoora and district residents have about the South Burnett Regional Council's operations or decisions. Tonight's public meeting is part of a series of meetings being run throughout the South Burnett so that new and old Councillors can hear any community concerns at first hand, and locals can get to meet all the region's Councillors personally.
