South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Linville Heritage Festival
The second (and final) day of the 2nd annual Linville Heritage Festival will be held at Linville today to celebrate 111 years since the first train arrived at the former timber town. Today visitors can grab a map and take a self-guided history walk around the village, enjoy pancakes and strawberries in the Community Garden, check out the mini arts and craft market in the Community Hall, stay for lunch at the Linville Hotel or order a picnic box from The Picnic Society, then take in a two hour "Bubbles And Water Colour Painting" class at the hotel from 1:00pm to 3:00pm for $55 per head (15 tickets available - you can book online).
Sunday Poker - Kingaroy
Sunday afternoon poker games will be played at Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy today. Registrations start at 2:00pm and play begins at 2:30pm. All games are free to play and there are prizes for first, second and third. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Sunday Sidewalk Sale - Nanango
The new monthly Sunday Sidewalk Sale - which runs on the 3rd Sunday of every month - will be held in Drayton Street, Nanango from 7:00am to around 1:00pm this morning. The Sidewalk Sale aims to inject some life and colour into Nanango's CBD on a Sunday, and today's Sidewalk Sale is expected to have over 14 different stands plus a sausage sizzle if you get hungry or thirsty while you browse the goods on offer. Sunday Bingo - Wondai
Bingo games will be held at the Wondai RSL in Mackenzie Street, Wondai this afternoon, with eyes down from 1:30pm. There will be 3 jackpots and 15 games on offer, and the kitchen will be open for light meals. Proceeds will go to help Wondai RSL veterans. More details? Phone (07) 4168-5297.
Nanango Campdraft
The Nanango Show Society will be hosting the second (and final) day of its annual two-day Nanango Campdraft at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street today, starting at 6:00am and continuing until the afternoon. Timbertowns Woodworkers - Blackbutt
The Timbertowns Woodworkers group will be holding their regular Sunday morning meeting at the Blackbutt Showgrounds in Bowman Road, Blackbutt from 8:30am until around 12:00 noon today. Taromeo Country Music Club Social - Blackbutt
The Taromeo Country Music Club will be holding their final bi-monthly Sunday social for 2021 at the Blackbutt Golf Club in Langton Road, Blackbutt from 10:00am to around 3:30pm today. Entertainment will be provided by visiting and guest artists and there'll also be multi-draw raffles, a money board, a licensed bar, plenty of food and refreshments and - of course! - lots of great country music and dancing. St Andrews Church Centenary - Wooroolin
St Andrews Anglican Church at 11 Short Street, Wooroolin will be celebrating its centenary today with a Communion Service presided by Bishop Cameron Venables at 10:00am, and followed by a bring and share picnic lunch (tea, coffee and water will be provided). Sunday Cricket - Kingaroy
Cricket fans will need to get up early today if they want to watch the South Burnett take on Bundaberg in a Goodchild Shield match that's being held on the hallowed grounds of Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (ie the Kingaroy Cricket Club). The action will start at 9:00am and a bar and canteen will be operating. Spectators are very welcome!
Kumbia Museum
The Kumbia and District Historical Society's museum, located in the Federation Heritage Centre behind Kumbia Hall in Bell Street, will be open from 1:30pm to 3:30pm this afternoon. 6 Appeal Sings In The Season - Kingaroy
POSTPONED: Acapella vocal group 6 Appeal, led by Australia's Got Talent singer Julie-anne Bell, will be performing in concert at St John's Lutheran Church Hall in Ivy Street, Kingaroy at 7:00pm this evening. Their 90-minute concert will feature gospel, musical comedy, pop and some familiar seasonal favourites, and will also be helping to fundraise for the South Burnett Masonic Lodge. Concert tickets - which include supper after the concert - are just $20 for adults or $15 for concessions, and can be booked online. Note: This event was postponed on November 17, and will now be held at a future date yet to be determined.
Blackbutt Country Markets
The Blackbutt Lions Country Markets - run on the third Sunday of every month - will be held at Les Muller Park in Hart Street, Blackbutt from 7:00am until around mid-day today. The markets offer a wide range of locally produced arts, crafts and freshly harvested foodstuffs and everyone is welcome along!
