Mini-Mod Carnival - Wondai

The South Burnett's annual Mini Mods rugby league carnival will be held over three ovals at the Wondai Sportsgrounds on the Bunya Highway in Wondai today. This carnival always attracts hundreds of junior players from all over the Wide-Bay Burnett, and matches will start at 8:20am and continue through until the afternoon. The U7s, U8s and U10s are all 15-minute games and will wrap up around 2:00pm, while the U12s are 19-minute games and will wrap up around 4:30pm. The U7s and U8s will play on Oval 3; the U10s on Oval 2; and the U12s on Oval 1. Spectators and supporters are very welcome!

South Burnett Woodcrafters - Kingaroy

The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. Shed Happens & Ladies Night Out - Kingaroy

The South Burnett Shed Men will be holding their 49th meeting at the Sunshine Mitre 10 store at 10 Rogers Drive in Kingaroy from 4:30pm to 7:00pm today. Paul Huddleston, who worked in orphanages in SE Asia and spent time working in the Northern Territory before moving to Murgon will be the meeting's special guest speaker, and all men and young blokes are very welcome. The cost of the meeting is $15 (which includes a meal, dessert, soft drinks, and tea/coffee), but young blokes under 15 can attend for free and you can BYO drinks if you prefer something else. To assist with planning the catering, though, an RSVP by Sunday, July 10 would be greatly appreciated. Saturday Soccer - Kingaroy and Murgon

CANCELLED: Round 13 of the 2016 South Burnett Football League competition will be played at Tom Alford Oval at the end of Oliver Bond Street in Kingaroy and at the Murgon Showgrounds in Macalister Street today. - the third last games of the season before the Semi-Final, Preliminary Final and Grand Final. In Kingaroy, Gunners will play Wests with 2nd Division hitting the park at 2:00pm; Women's Division at 3:30pm; and 1st Division at 5:00pm. And in Murgon, Barambah will play the Nanango Panthers with 2nd Division kicking off at 2:00pm, Women's Division at 3:30pm and 1st Division at 5:00pm. Canteens will be running at both venues and spectators are very welcome. Meanwhile, Junior Soccer matches will be returning from their school holiday break and matches will be played at the Nanango soccer fields in Burnett Street this morning. Note: Today's matches have been cancelled due to wet weather.

Saturday Night Rugby League - Wondai

Rugby league fans should head north again tonight. At 6:00pm, the Wondai Wolves will be taking on the Kingaroy Red Ants at the Wondai Sportsgrounds off the Bunya Highway just north of Wondai's CBD, and it should be a good match. Right now - at the sharp end of the season - both teams are keen to add as many points as they can to their seasonal tally. Right now the Red Ants are well ahead of the Wolves, who've been struggling for numbers all year. But fans shouldn't discount the possibility of a fight-back by northerners, who are known for producing some top league action when all the stars and planets align. A canteen will be operating at the grounds and spectators and supporters are very welcome!

Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Seasons Of Change Grand Opening - Kingaroy

The Seasons Of Change charity shop at 25 King Street in Kingaroy (formerly Pathway 2 Hope, but now under new management) will be having its grand opening between 9:00am and 12:00 noon this morning. In addition to a whole new look and lots of bargains - everything is on sale for $1 or less - there'll also be a sausage sizzle, a jumping castle for children (weather permitting), balloons and lots of fun.
