Dinner With The Captains - Kingaroy
BOOKED OUT: The 2016 Dinner With The Captains - a major annual fundraiser for the South Burnett's Relay For Life effort - will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall at 6:00pm this evening. This year's dinner has been sponsored by the Tarong Power Stations, Stanwell Corporation, Downer EDI, TAFE South West and the Telstra Store Kingaroy, and the special guests will be Australian sporting legends Wally Lewis, Nikki Hudson and Ian Chappell. Tickets for this semi-formal event, which includes a gourmet three-course dinner, are $80 per head or $800 per table of 10. They can be booked by phoning 4169-0700. A free courtesy bus will also be running from Murgon.
Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Trivia Night - Nanango
A Trivia Night will be held at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango from 6:00pm tonight (play starts at 6:30pm sharp). The evening is a fundraiser for the Nanango Netball Club, and play will be in tables of between 8 and 10. There'll also be a licensed bar in operation, appetisers available for $5 per plate, and lots of raffles and prizes. Brass Monkeys - Kingaroy
Popular entertainers Brass Monkeys will be performing at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street, Kingaroy from 7:30pm to 11:30pm this evening. Admission is free. More details? Phone the RSL on (07) 4162-1755
Saturday Rugby League - Cherbourg
South Burnett rugby league fans need to head to Jack O'Chin Oval in Cherbourg today, but will be rewarded with two great games if they do. Today Kingaroy's Red Ants will be playing the Murgon Mustangs at 1:00pm in a sudden death Minor Semi-Final that will spell the end of the season for one side or the other; and then at 2:00pm, Cherbourg's mighty Hornets will be playing the equally ferocious Nanango Stags in a Major Semi-Final that will see the winner go on to the South Burnett Grand Final, while the loser will get another chance in a succeeding round. A canteen will be operating on the grounds and spectators and supporters are very welcome.
Kickboxing Association AGM - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Kickboxing Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting at their headquarters at Unit 11 in 27 Pound Street, Kingaroy at 9:30am this morning. All interested people are welcome to attend.
Saturday Soccer - Kingaroy and Wondai
Round 14 of the 2016 South Burnett Football League competition will be played at Tom Alford Oval at the end of Oliver Bond Street in Kingaroy and at the Wondai Soccer Grounds next to the Wondai Sportsgreounds today - the second last games of the season before the Semi-Final, Preliminary Final and Grand Final. In Kingaroy, Wests will play the Nanango Panthers with 2nd Division hitting the park at 2:00pm; Women's Division at 3:30pm; and 1st Division at 5:00pm. And in Wondai, Barambah will play Gunners with 2nd Division kicking off at 12:30pm, Women's Division at 2:00pm and 1st Division at 3:15pm. Canteens will be running at both venues and spectators are very welcome. Meanwhile, Junior Soccer matches will be played at the Kingaroy soccer fields in Oliver Bond Street this morning, and will stay at the same grounds until the junior season ends on September 10.
South Burnett Woodcrafters - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today.
