Kumbia Antiques Roadshow
The fourth annual Kumbia Antiques Roadshow will be held at Kumbia Hall in Bell Street from 9:30am to 4:00pm today (and also from 11:30am tomorrow). If you love antiques, a $25 ticket includes morning tea, lunch and written valuations on a maximum of two items (your pieces will be identified, discussed and valued by licenced valuer, Ray Dalton). The Antiques Roadshow is a very informative and fun day, but tickets need to be prepaid because places are strictly limited. They can be purchased at Options Gift Store at 183 Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy; Kingaroy Office Central at 163 Haly Street, Kingaroy; Lenihan’s Butchery in Bell Street, Kumbia; or by phoning Stephanie from the Kumbia Progress Association on (07) 4164-4014 or 0419 649-226. Kumbia Country Markets
The second Kumbia Country Markets for 2016 (run by the Kumbia Hall Committee) will be held in Bell Street and the precincts of the Kumbia Hall from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today. The markets feature homemade gifts, fashions, fresh fruit and vegies, plants and crafts and a sausage sizzle will be operating too! Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Christmas In July - Wondai
Dimities Cottage at 49 Haly Street in Wondai will be holding a BYO "Christmas In July" all-you-can-eat buffet at 6:30pm this evening. Chef Graham will be preparing oodles of traditional Yuletide goodies, and Dimities will be decked out with dozens of Christmas trees too. Seats at the buffet are $30 for adults or $15 for children, but since this annual event is usually always sold out, bookings are highly advisable if you want to avoid disappointment: (07) 4168-5744.
Neil Duddy - Kingaroy

Charcoal Drawing Workshop - Blackbutt
The Butt Art Gallery in Coulson Street, Blackbutt will be holding a weekend-long Charcoal Drawing Workshop today and tomorrow for anyone who'd like to learn how to draw with charcoal, as well as experienced charcoal drawers who'd like to upgrade their skills. The South Burnett Kickboxing Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting at their HQ at Unit 11, 27 Pound Street in Kingaroy from 9:30am to about 11:00am this morning. All interested people are welcome to attend.
Christmas In July - Kingaroy
A Christmas In July dinner will be held at the Kingaroy Senior Citizens Centre in Youngman Street, Kingaroy (opposite SuperIGA) from 6:30pm until around 11:00pm this evening. The event is a fundraiser for the Kingaroy Girl Guides and the $40 tickets cover a great 3 course meal, live entertainment from the popular Guy Davis and a really fun night out. Numbers are strictly limited to 90 to allow for a dance floor, though, so you need to book quickly. The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. Point Of Difference Exhibition Finale Luncheon - Wondai
This month's "Point Of Difference" art exhibition at the Wondai Regional Art Gallery will wrap up with a special lunch at Dimities Cottage in Haly Street, Wondai from 12:00 noon onwards today. All the artists in this month's exhibition - June McCotter, Rhonda Pullen, Judith Goodman, Sarah McCarthy and Vo'ia Design - will be on hand, along with special guest speaker Alison Iszlaub, who founded the gallery two decades ago. PS: As an extra inducement, every diner will have a chance to win the Lucky Door Prize - an original June McCotter artwork valued at $350. Saturday AFL - Kingaroy
After quite a few weeks without a home game, Aussie Rules fans should head to Lyle Vidler Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy today. The South Burnett Saints will be playing Lockyer Valley, and after the Saints' 177-34 drubbing of Chinchilla two weeks ago, followed by a bye, the local lads will be going into today's match as red hot favourites. A bar and canteen will be operating at the grounds and spectators are very welcome!
