South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Mental Health Forum - Blackbutt
A Mental Health Forum hosted by Road Of Recovery will be held at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 11:00am to 4:00pm today. Guest speakers include clinical psychologist Michelle Anitfos from Mylne Street Mental Health in Toowoomba, who'll talk about the differences between clinical and non-clinical psychologists; Tim Saal from Rural and Remote Mental Health, who'll talk about suicide prevention; carer Betty Day, who'll talk about the unmet needs of the mental health system; and several speakers from Road Of Recovery who'll talk about depression, loss and grief; stigma; and recovery. The cost of the forum is a gold coin donation to cover hall hire fees, lunch and afternoon tea and everyone is welcome - but for catering purposes, an RSVP by 11 July would be greatly appreciated. South Burnett Soil Nutrition Forum - Kingaroy
BGA Agriservices, the University of Queensland, GRDC and DAFF will be jointly hosting a South Burnett Soil Nutrition Forum at the Kingaroy RSL in Markwell Street from 9:00am to 1:00pm this morning. The forum will be addressed by Ian Crosthwaite from BGA Agriservices, Chris Dowling from Back Paddock Company, Mike Bell from QAAFI and Nikki Seymour from DAFF and will look at nutrient removals, budgets and soil testing; nitrogen replacement from legumes and fertilisers; fertiliser placement strategies; organic fertilisers; nutrient management for different farming sequences; current grower strategies; and the results of the Weller trial. The forum would be of interest to agricultural producers - particularly those involved with cropping - and it's completely free, but to assist with catering an RSVP by July 14 would be greatly appreciated. Man Cave - Kingaroy
The Sister Dolores Carroll Training Centre at St Mary's Catholic College at 10 Kent Street in Kingaroy will be transforming into a "Man's Cave" between 7:00pm and 10:00pm tonight. Qualified instructors will be demonstrating the use of all the equipment in the centre - great stuff like lathes, drills etc - and if you're a man interested in restoring or manufacturing wood or metal products and socialising with other men who have similar interests, then this could be the place for you! (similar to a Men's Shed, but with a lot more gear). There's no charge to come along and it's completely non-religious. More details? Phone Fr. Wednesday Night Netball - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Netball Association will be holding their regular Wednesday night fixtures at the Kingaroy Netball Courts at the corner of Alford and Fisher Streets at 6:30pm this evening.
Nanango Country Quilters & Crafts Group Meeting
The Nanango Country Quilters And Crafts group meet on the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Nanango Cultural Centre in George Street, Nanango between 9:00am to 2:00pm. Members can get to pursue a wide variety of crafts at these informal gatherings and the $4 meeting fee includes morning tea (but BYO cup and lunch). There's also usually a raffle as well. Judo Club Training Night - Murgon
The Murgon Judo Club will be holding its regular Wednesday training night at the Salvation Army Hall in Macalister Street, Murgon from 4:30pm to around 7:00pm this evening. Juniors will run from 4:30pm to 5:30pm, then seniors from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. Class fees are $4 for juniors, $6 for seniors, and new members are very welcome! More details? Kingaroy Scout Club Meeting
The Kingaroy Scout Club, which meets every Wednesday night during school terms, will be holding its regular meeting at the Scout Den in James Street, Kingaroy from 5:50pm to around 8:00pm tonight. Scouting provides instruction in an educational program of life and outdoor skills, mixed with games and craft activities, all designed to develop the physical, mental and emotional development of young males and females between the ages of 7 and 26. Indoor Bowls & Cards Day - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. Yarraman Community Council Meeting
CANCELLED: The Yarraman Community Council will be holding their regular third Wednesday of the month meeting at the Yarraman Community Hall in Browne Street at 5:30pm this evening. Prospective new members, volunteers and anyone else who'd like to see Yarraman move ahead are very welcome! Note: Because some YCC members are currently away, the meeting set down for tonight was cancelled on Monday, July 14. Meetings will resume as normal next month.

Charlotte The Emu Memorial Meeting - Wondai
CROW-FM 90.7 will be holding a third meeting at their studio at the corner of Haly and Scott Streets in Wondai at 6:00pm this evening to discuss the budgets for erecting a memorial for Charlotte the emu (ie Wondai's town emu) who was run over and killed last month. Blackbutt Camera Club Meeting
The Timber Towns Digital Art Association (also known as the Blackbutt Camera Club) will be holding a meeting at the Uniting Church Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 4:00pm to 8:00pm this evening. The club meets on the first and third Wednesdays of every month except December and January. The first Wednesday is devoted to practical photography (bring your camera and equipment) and the third Wednesday to a review of those images and talks and tips on software (bring your laptop), followed by a committee meeting at 7:00pm.
