South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Red Boot Ride - South Burnett
The South Burnett's second annual Red Boot Ride - to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House - will be held today. Motorcycle riders can register outside Mark Smith's Menswear in Lamb Street from 8:30am. Cost is $25 per bike (pillion passengers are free), and the ride is open to all makes of bikes. The ride will get underway at 9:30am and then head to Nanango, Maidenwell, Cooyar, Maclagan, Kaimkillenbun, Bunya Mountains, Kumbia, Kingaroy and then back to Murgon. Lunch will be held at Elz Bistro at Dandabah (cost $6 to be paid at the venue - for every meal purchased, $1 will be donated back to the fundraiser). The total riding time is a little over four hours, with breaks at Maidenwell and the Bunya Mountains. For more information, contact Rod on 0417-719-268 or Trevor on 0418-716-848.
Hivesville Country Markets
The Hivesville Country Markets will be held at the Hivesville Sports Grounds from 7:00am to around 1:00pm today. These family friendly monthly markets feature a variety of stalls including fresh local farm produce, plants, crafts and lots of food. There'll also be mini auctions running throughout the morning and there's plenty of free parking in the grounds. Photography Competition - Nanango
Interested in photography? Here's a great way to pick up some ideas ... Entries in the South Burnett Digital Projected Images competition will be on display from1 :00pm today at St Patricks’s Catholic School, 16 Alfred Street, Nanango. There will be a great display of photographs by some of the best photographers in the South Burnett from the four camera and photographic clubs in the South Burnett. South Burnett Orchid Society Meeting - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Orchid Society will be holding their regular last Sunday of the month meeting at the South Burnett Youth Park in Somerset Street, Kingaroy from 2:00pm onwards this aftenoon. The Society exists for orchid enthusiasts of all skill levels, and new members and visitors are always very welcome. More details? Open Mic Day - Nanango
The Palace Hotel at 77 Drayton Street in Nanango will be holding an Open Mic Jam Session from 1:30pm to around 6:00pm today, hosted by Mr Q. Anyone is welcome to put their name up on the blackboard and - when their turn comes - to perform up to 20 minutes of originals or covers. All PAs, guitars and drums will be provided by Mr Q and there'll be a sausage sizzle and finger foods on hand if you get peckish. Sunday Afternoon Poker - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy RSL in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy will be hosting Sunday afternoon poker games today. Registration starts at 2:00pm and the first cards are dealt at 2:30pm. There are $150 in prizes to be won and no fees to play. More details from the RSL on (07) 4162-1755.

The weekly Kilkivan Markets will be held in Lester Millar Park in Kilkivan from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon this morning. Sunday Afternoon Darts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular Sunday afternoon Pot Luck Doubles darts competitions from 11:00am to 4:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. A $10 playing fee applies, but that includes a great BBQ lunch. Careflight Enduro Loops Challenge - Boondooma
Manar Park at Boondooma will be holding the second (and final) day of their Careflight Enduro Loops Challenge today as a fundraiser for the RACQ Careflight Helicopter Rescue Service. Today the Park will be running Family and Novice Enduro Challenges for motorcycles and quad bikes. The Challenge is a non-competitive, social event to allow riders to test their ability in the company of like-minded people, and accommodation is also available on-site if you want to camp out.
