Nanango State School 150th Anniversary Meet & Greet
Nanango State School will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary tonight and tomorrow. Tonight the celebrations will take the form of an Anniversary Meet & Greet at Ringsfield House at 45 Alfred Street in Nanango. Ringsfield is now the home of the original Nanango State School building and guests will be able to inspect it if they like. Tomorrow the school will celebrate with an Anniversary Fair in the school grounds between 9:00am and 1:00pm. More details? Phone Tammy on 0429-632-976.
Friday Morning Bingo - Kingaroy
After a short break for the festive season, the Endeavour Foundation will be returning to run bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? Friday Afternoon Scroungers - Nanango

Circuit Fitness Class - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a Circuit Fitness Class from 4:30pm to 5:30pm this afternoon in their upstairs fitness studio. The class provides a great workout that will help increase strength as well as give you great cardio exercise, and the class fee is just $7 for PCYC members or $15 for non-members. More details? Junior Blue Light Disco - Kingaroy
The first Junior Blue Light Disco for 2016 will be held at Kingaroy Town Hall in Glendon Street, Kingaroy from 6:00pm to 8:30pm this evening. Entry to the Junior Disco is restricted to young people aged 14 and below who can produce their student ID, and in addition to a fun night out tonight's disco will also have some great prizes to be won as well, courtesy of sponsors. Admission is $5 and - as usual - attendees are asked to remember that Blue Light Discos are drug, alcohol, chewing gum and tobacco free and no passouts or early exit will be given without parental permission and/or collection. Seniors Having A Ball - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding a "Seniors Having A Ball" exercise class from 8:30am to 9:30am this morning. The program is designed to address the issues that many have with ageing and it's not just for seniors! It provides light exercise to keep the heart and joints moving, improving coordination and mobility. It also provides a beginner platform to start any fitness activity on. As well as physical fitness, it also has a fun social atmosphere too. The class fee is just $4 for PCYC members or $7 for non-members. More details? Friday Night At The Shed - Nanango
The Shed in Little Drayton Street, Nanango (just next to the Scott Car Park) will be open from 7:30pm until late tonight for local musicians and anyone else who enjoys music to come along, bring their instruments and jam in a relaxed and informal setting (or just sit on the Shed's lounges, listen in and enjoy the wide variety of talent on offer). Kingaroy Junior Netball Development Night
Kingaroy Junior Netball will be holding their first development night for 2016 at the Kingaroy Netball Courts at the corner of Alford and Fisher Streets, Kingaroy from 4:30pm to 6:00pm this evening. All players are encouraged to attend.
Electoral Roll Closes Today
The Queensland electoral roll will close at 5:00pm this afternoon. Voters who want to vote in the up-coming Council elections on Saturday, March 19 may need to ensure their electoral roll details are up-to-date if they've moved house (or moved into the area) since the last election. Electoral roll details can be checked online on the Australian Electoral Commission's website.
Musical Afternoon - Kingaroy
A gold coin donation musical afternoon featuring performances by Billie Tadros, and Taromeo country and western singers David, Heather, Conny and Kate will be held at the Kingaroy Senior Cirtizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy (just opposite SuperIGA) from 1:00pm to 3:00pm today. Everyone is welcome!
Wheatlands SS Meet'n'Greet
Wheatlands State School P&C will be holding a meet'n'greet barbecue from 6:00pm tonight for all school families. This is an opportunity to meet staff and other families withing the school community.
Wesleyan Food Hampers - Nanango
Wesleyan Grace Community Food Hampers will be available at 36 Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 12:00 noon today. Food hampers will be available for $20.
South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 8:30am to 12:30pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $40 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
