South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society New Years Party - Booie
- The South Burnett Wine Appreciation Society will be holding a New Years Party (really, a delayed Christmas party...) at Crane Wines on Haydens Road at Booie from 12:00 noon onwards today. For $15 per head, guests can enjoy a ham and salad lunch and sample Crane's newest releases, then settle back for a very long, lazy afternoon at the cellar door enjoying Crane Wines, platters and socialising. All WAS members and any interested non-members who'd like to find out what the Society is all about are very welcome to attend, but for catering purposes you'll need to RSVP. You can do so by by emailing the Wine Appreciation Society. Note: Because of the Australia Day long weekend, the WAS won't be holding its usual meeting on the last Friday of this month. However meetings will return to their normal schedule from February onwards.
Pink Stumps Golf Day - Wondai
- The Wondai District Cricket Club will be holding a Pink Stumps Golf Day at the Wondai Country Club on the Bunya Highway just north of Wondai's CBD today. This fun get-together will be a 3 person ambrose over 18 holes with a shotgun start at 10:00am, and everyone is welcome to take part and help raise funds for a good cause. In addition to great prizes for the longest drive and being nearest to pins, there'll also be a prize for the best-dressed team (you'll need to wear pink to be in the running), a multi-draw raffle and a money board. Murgon CBD Markets
- The monthly Murgon Markets will be held in Lamb Street in the heart of Murgon from 7:00am until around 12:00 noon today. The markets offer locally-made crafts, foods and produce and are always an interesting Sunday morning out. New stall-holders are always welcome too! More details?
