New Year's Day
- Today is New Years Day, a public holiday. Most South Burnett businesses will either be closed today or operating on restricted hours. Today also marks the start of the United Nations' International Year of Small Island Developing States, Crystallography, Family Farming and Solidarity with the Palestinian People (ie four separate things); the second month of summer in the southern hemisphere; the start of the South Burnett's 2013-14 vintage, which will begin a little later this month when the first white grapes are harvested; and the final weeks of the summer school vacation (classes will resume on Tuesday, January 28). South Burnett Online will resume normal broadcasting on Tuesday, January 14. We wish all our readers a very Happy New Year!
