Did you know Census Night is on Tuesday, August 11?
The Australian Bureau of Statistics is reminding residents to check their mailboxes for instructions on how to participate.
A spokesperson said most households would complete the Census online, however paper forms would be available on request for those who prefer them.
“Once you receive your instructions, you can complete your Census straight away if you already know where you’ll be on Census night. You don’t need to wait until August 11,” Census nation spokesperson Emily Walter said.
Some households will receive a Census paper form in the mail or have one delivered by a Census field officer. These households will still be able to complete their Census online if they prefer.
The ABS expects about 85 per cent of forms to be completed online, which should take about 30 minutes.

The data collected allows State and Federal governments and local Councils to make better decisions about schools, health care, transport, infrastructure and many other issues.
Businesses, community groups and not-for-profit organisations also use the information to help plan their services for individuals, families and communities.
Having the right numbers means the right services can be provided in a community.
