The project director for the Glan Devon bio-fertiliser plant proposal said the notification of the lapse of their Development Application came “out of the blue”.
Rusty Mark told southburnett.com.au on Tuesday the group was informed by a telephone call from the South Burnett Regional Council on Thursday night, followed by the written notification on Friday.
This had been a shock, as the group believed they were working to an approved timeline which had been understood by all parties, and had been repeated at a face-to-face meeting with Council representatives in September.
Mr Mark said the “stop” periods had been undertaken in consultation with both SBRC and the State Assessment and Referral Agency (SARA), however he blamed no one for the misunderstanding.
The “stops” had been requested to allow the project team to prepare answers to the queries that had come from the State Government.
They were ready to submit this response, which included a “complete redesign” of the project, when Council’s letter arrived on Friday.
Mr Mark said the Glan Devon Bio-Fertiliser Project remained committed to the South Burnett but was now working through its options to “solidify” its next moves.
It would release more information in the near future.
