Kingaroy’s Under 8s Day was bigger and better than ever this week, attracting hundreds of children and their families to Kingaroy’s Memorial Park on Thursday.
The day is organised by South Burnett Partnership For Kids with support from local not-for-profit groups as well as the South Burnett Regional Council and Sunpork / Swickers.
Peta Clarkson said this was the fifth year that the event had been held, and it had been the biggest so far.
“We have had more than 40 stallholders, 10 more than last year but there’s always room for more!,” she said.
The children were going for stall to stall, playing games and learning new skills while their parents and carers learned more about the services on offer around the community.
The day was also supported by local emergency services, with displays from the police, ambulance, fire brigade and rural fire brigade.
“Everyone volunteers their time to make it happen,” Peta said.
