Police in the Goomeri and Kilkivan areas have stepped up patrols in a bid to stop illegal hunting.
A police spokesperson said illegal hunting was also associated with weapons and trespassing offences.
Police are currently investigating reports of people shooting a rifle into private property in Kinbombi on January 19.
Investigations are continuing.
Goomeri officer-in-charge, Acting Sergeant Phillip Kolera, said police were taking the issue of illegal hunting seriously.
Police were patrolling the area to proactively detect illegal hunting and trespass offences, and would continue to do so.
“Being charged could result in a court appearance and loss of your firearms licence,” Acting Sergeant Phillip Kolera said.
He said the offences could include trespassing, discharging a weapon on private land without the owner’s consent and prohibited conduct in a public place involving a weapon.
“Don’t be comforted by the fact that you’re on a rural property. We will investigate all reports of criminal behaviour,” Acting Sergeant Kolera said.
The latest investigation follows reports late last year of animals, including wildlife and a horse, being struck with arrows in the Wondai area.
