South Burnett residents and businesses have been invited to nominate mobile phone black spot locations.
“Round 8 of the Mobile Black Spot Program is now open for Mobile Network Operators and Infrastructure Providers to make applications for co-funding to deliver projects that provide new and resilient mobile coverage in rural and regional areas that are prone to natural disasters,” Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien said.
“As part of the application process, applicants are encouraged to consult all levels of government, as well as local communities, to help ensure telecommunication infrastructure is delivered where it is needed most.
“To assist with this process, I am calling for members of the public to contact me with locations which they believe need better mobile connectivity.”
The nominated black spots will be added to the Mobile Black Spot Round 8 Project Noticeboard, which will inform operators and infrastructure providers of areas in need of the application.
“All feedback regarding mobile blackspots and potential sites for improvements should be sent to my office in a concise email before January 31,” Mr O’Brien said.
