Kingaroy Men’s Shed members are looking forward to a break after another very busy Dinner Under The Stars fundraiser on Saturday.

The annual fundraiser for the LifeFlight Foundation was booked out with 240 tickets sold for the dinner plus another 20 “walk-ins” on the night to enjoy the entertainment.

President Eric Ford said it had been “a good crowd and good food”.

Funds were raised from the entry tickets, a raffle and an auction (handled by Dennis Cotter) which included several LifeFlight bears.

“The big bear made $1000, and the little bears made up to $200,” Eric said.

Diners enjoyed a meal served up by volunteers from Kingaroy State High School.

Live music from the stage also added to the atmosphere.

The night was tinged with some sadness as Kingaroy Men’s Shed members remembered Ralph Clark, who died in September last year.

Ralph had been an integral part of organising previous Dinners Under The Stars.

“We wanted to have a good one for Ralph,” Eric said.

Eric added that the Men’s Shed was very grateful for the sponsorship and donations they had received from local businesses.

“Without that, we wouldn’t be able to do what we did,” he said.

“We aim to provide a good family night out where everyone can enjoy themselves.”
