Two people have been charged with multiple offences after a white Commodore was stolen from the carpark at Swickers Kingaroy Bacon Factory on Friday morning.

Police will allege a 29-year-old Nanango man broke into workers’ lockers at the pork abattoir, stealing keys, bank cards, a mobile phone and other items.

He then allegedly drove the Commodore out of the car park.

Police arrested the man and a 25-year-old Nanango woman at a Nanango motel on Saturday morning after they were tracked to the location by mobile phone data.

The vehicle was located by police at 8:40am in Templeton Road at Nanango.

The man has been charged with 18 offences, including stealing, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, break-and-enter, using false plates and drug possession linked to alleged incidents at Rothwell, Kingaroy and Ballogie.

The woman faces nine charges including unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

A police spokesperson said investigations were continuing and more charges could follow.

The pair have also been charged with breaching the Public Health Act after they were allegedly in Brisbane during the lockdown period.

The man was refused police bail and was due to appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Saturday.

The woman is expected to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court later this month.
