Former Dalby woman Candice Hedge, 34, is recovering in a hospital after being stabbed in the throat during Saturday night’s Islamist terrorist attack in London.
Candice grew up in Dalby and went to school there before moving to Brisbane several years ago.
She was in London to spend time with her boyfriend who lives there.
Her grandfather Brian Hedge, from the well-known Hedge’s Sports Store in Dalby, told the ABC that Candice’s friends and family back in her home town were shocked by the news.
Candice had been working in a restaurant when one of the attackers came in; early reports suggest she tried to hide under a table but the attacker saw her and stabbed her.
She is now in St Thomas’ Hospital in London and her family says she is expected to make a good recovery.
