New Year’s Day was memorable for all the wrong reasons for a 23-year-old Brisbane visitor to the South Burnett.

The Wishart man was pulled over by police at 10:15am and allegedly recorded a breath alcohol reading of .072.

He was issued with a notice to appear in court to face a mid-range drink-driving charge and suspended from driving for 24 hours.

But just an hour later, police on the Bunya Highway, near the Booie-Crawford Road, pulled him over again.

This time he allegedly blew .059.

As well as a second drink-driving charge, the man was also charged with driving while under 24-hour suspension.

He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on February 20.

Kingaroy police have issued 13 traffic infringement notices since New Year, including eight for speeding.

Police are searching for two firearms stolen from a house in Gooyong Street, Kingaroy, at some time between January 4-15.

The weapons taken were a .223 Remington and a bolt-action .22 rifle.

Thieves also stole a set of car keys belonging to a Ford Falcon.

Kingaroy police were called to break up a fight in Doonkuna Street, Kingaroy, about 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 11.

Acting Senior Sergeant Brent Gerber said the incident involved 11 people.

Police investigations are continuing.

Two motorists will face drug-driving charges after being stopped by Kingaroy Police last week.

On January 10, a 45-year-old Kingaroy man was tested in Haly Street, Kingaroy.

On January 14, a 33-year-old Murgon man was tested on the Bunya Highway at Memerambi.

Two Kingaroy men have been arrested on separate return-to-prison warrants after allegedly breaching parole orders.

A 61-year-old Inala man has been issued with a traffic ticket after a two-vehicle collision at the corner of Haly and Jarrah streets, Kingaroy, on Saturday.

No one was injured in the crash which occurred after the Inala man allegedly failed to give way.

The New Year also began badly for a 21-year-old Kingaroy man who was allegedly found in possession of an ecstasy tablet at 12:45am on January 1.

He has been issued with a notice to appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on January 30.

A 20-year-old Taabinga man will face court on January 30 on three charges related to drug production and possession.

Police allegedly located cannabis plants and dried cannabis when they searched a house in Ivy Street, Kingaroy, on January 11.

On Thursday, police conducted a search of a house in Frangipani Drive, Kingaroy, where they allegedly located cannabis and drug utensils.

Investigations are continuing.

January also didn’t start well for a 44-year-old Kingaroy man.

At 5:30am on New Year’s Day, police allegedly found him passed out at the BP Garage in Kingaroy Street. They issued him with a $365 infringement notice for disorderly behaviour.

Two days later, the same man allegedly stole soft drinks from the BP Garage. He was issued with a notice to appear in court to face a charge of stealing.

A week later, the same man allegedly entered the Cardio Central premises in Pound Street at 2:45pm and stole protein powder.

This time police arrested him and he was remanded in custody.

He appeared in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on January 11 where he was fined $600 for stealing and committing a public nuisance.

Kingaroy Police will be strictly enforcing school speed zones when students head back to classes next week.

Fines for speeding range from $160 to $1137 plus a mandatory six-months licence suspension.
