Two Kingaroy drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries after separate single vehicle crashes at the weekend.

On Saturday about 10:00am, a 17-year-old Kingaroy woman suffered a broken collarbone when her Suzuki sedan left the road, hit an embankment and crashed into a tree on the Memerambi-Gordonbrook Road at Gordonbrook.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said it appeared the vehicle was travelling west and was attempting to negotiate a right hand turn when the incident occurred.

On Sunday about 2:00pm, police and emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash on Hodges Road, near Inverlaw.

A 28-year-old Kingaroy man was taken to Kingaroy Hospital after his Nissan 4WD left the road, rolled and hit a tree.

A QAS spokesman said the driver had minor injuries.

The vehicle had major damage and was towed from the scene.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are continuing.

The Queensland road toll for 2016 now stands 168 deaths, with seven fatalities so far in September.

In the run-up to school holidays, police are urging drivers to take care on the roads and drive to conditions.

If residents are going away, they should also secure their house, making sure all doors and windows are locked.

Any vehicles should also be left locked, and their keys put away.
