A complaint has been lodged with the Queensland Ombudsman over the State Government’s sale of a portion of Adermann Park in Kingaroy to St John’s Lutheran School in 2013.
Although the Ombudsman’s Office has refused to confirm or deny any investigation due to privacy considerations, sources close to the South Burnett Regional Council have confirmed Council recently received paperwork from the Ombudsman’s office.
The complaint is the latest in a string that followed the State Government’s decision in April 2013 to approve the sale of a portion of the park to allow expansion of the school.
All have been dismissed, except one against South Burnett councillor Damien Tessmann which was partially upheld in January by the Local Government Regional Conduct Review Panel.
This complaint, lodged by Windera resident Ralph Percy, was upheld in relation to an address made by Cr Tessmann to Council about the Adermann family’s feelings towards the proposed sale, rather than the actual sale of the Adermann Park land.
At the time, Mr Percy said he was considering taking the matter further by approaching the Ombudsman, claiming other complaints by him had been dismissed due to “political decisions by the National Party”.
