Halle Cameron, 6, from Kingaroy, was having fun with the hula hoops and other games

December 16, 2013

It was Yarraman’s turn to celebrate Christmas on Saturday with the Yarraman Christmas Markets in the morning followed by the Christmas Carnival going late into the night.

There was entertainment for the young and not-so-young in Errol Munt Park with live music and free rides.

Splatt Sponge Attack – where competitors get the opportunity to shoot wet sponges at each other – proved popular in the hot weather.

Also popular were the ice cones and buckets of fairy floss.

Karla’s Carnival came across from Kingaroy to provide fun and games for the children and do face-painting.

Santa dropped by to say hi about 6:00pm.

The festive spirit continued into the evening with a licensed bar operating and then the big fireworks display.

The Christmas Carnival was sponsored by the Yarraman Progress Association and local businesses.

Yarraman’s Christmas spirit will continue next Saturday night, with a barbecue and Carols by Candlelight at Errol Munt Park from  6:00pm.

The carols have been organised by the Yarraman Community Council in conjunction with the churches of Yarraman.   BYO chair, blanket and candles …

Kaylene Bambrick travelled over from Moonie to keep the live music going

Denise Smith, from Karla’s Carnival, was giving Kayleigh Corner, from Nanango, a brush up

Ron Lucas, from Booie, and Alison Anderson, from Yarraman, were busy behind the grill
