The newly formed South Burnett branch of the LNP held its first official function on Wednesday night, a meet and greet with Health Minister Lawrence Springborg at Ringsfield House in Nanango.

Branch president Cr Damien Tessmann introduced Mr Springborg as “the Father of the LNP”, acknowledging the former National Party leader’s role in bringing the Nats and Liberal Party together.

The South Burnett LNP branch has also been formed from an amalgamation … of the former Kingaroy-Kumbia and Yarraman-Kooralgin-Nanango branches.

About 140 people gathered under the shade sails in front of the old Coach House at Ringsfield to enjoy fingerfood and meet Mr Springborg.

The Health Minister went from group to group, meeting people and shaking hands before taking to the podium to speak.

Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington congratulated Mr Springborg on his 23 1/2 years in politics.

NB. Another well-known conservative will be visiting next week; federal Liberal MP Bronwyn Bishop will be at a dinner in Kingaroy on Tuesday.
