Wondai Country Markets
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery's popular monthly Wondai Country Markets will be operating at Coronation Park in Wondai's CBD from 7:00am to 12:00 noon today. Today's markets will feature stallholders selling fresh fruit and vegetables, arts and crafts, useful knick-knacks and clothing. There'll also be live entertainment; lots and lots of other stalls selling great gifts and goodies; and special hand-made treasures from local artisans available from the Gallery's new "Studio" building just a short stroll across the park. The Wondai Kindergarten's BBQs will also be firing up from 6:45am to dish out hearty breakfasts to early bargain hunters. Kingaroy Lions Club 50 Year Reunion Dinner
The Kingaroy Lions Club will be holding a special 50 Year Reunion Dinner to celebrate half a century of Lionism in Kingaroy at the Kingaroy RSL from 6:00pm until late tonight (dinner starts artound 6:30pm). All current and past Lions and Leo club members and their spouses are very welcome and tickets are $35 per head. Guests can renew old friendships, make new ones and relive some wonderful memories. South Burnett PCYC Open Day - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC at 40 Macalister Street in Murgon will be holding an Open Day from 9:00am to 12:00 noon this morning.The Open Day will let you try a range of fitness classes the PCYC runs for free. They include Grit (9:30am-10:30am), Pump (10:15am-10:45am), Gymnastics (10:00am-12:00 noon); Boxing (11:00am-11:30am); and Squash/Racket Ball/Gym (9:00am-11:30am). More details? The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. Saturday Soccer - Wondai and Kingaroy
The second round of the South Burnett's Evolution Solar Football League for 2015 will be played in Wondai and Kingaroy this afternoon. In Wondai, Barambah will play Gunners at the Wondai soccer fields off the Bunya Highway north of town, with 2nd Division hitting the park at 12:30pm; Women's Division at 2:00pm and 1st Division at 3:15pm. And in Kingaroy, Wests will play the Nanango Panthers, with 2nd Division kicking off at 2:00pm, Women's Division playing at 3:30pm and 1st Division at 5:00pm. A bar and canteen will be running at both venues, admission is free and spectators are very welcome!
March For Mental Health
A region-wide "March For Mental Health" will be held around the South Burnett this morning, followed by a free music concert and family entertainment in the Town Hall Forecourt in Glendon Street, Kingaroy. The event is an awareness raiser designed to send a message that the South Burnett needs better mental health support facilities, and it will kick off with walks at Errol Munt Park near the Blackbutt Visitor Information Centre in Blackbutt and the Murgon RSL Club car park at 9:00am; followed by two further walks at Reg McCallum Park in Henry Street, Nanango and the Wondai Timber Industry Museum at Wondai at 10:15am. Both groups will then converge on Kingaroy, where the concert will kick off at 12:00 noon with performances by Amber Goldsmith, Tori Summers, Cruise 'N' Groove and Ausphonic that will run until around 3:00pm. There'll also be a free jumping castle for children and food and drink stalls in the grounds. Saturday Rugby League - Cherbourg
The latest round of the South Burnett's pre-season rugby league games will be held at Jack O'Chin Oval in Cherbourg today, kicking off at 9:00am with an U6s/U8s match between Cherbourg and Murgon. This will be followed at 10:15am with an U10s Nanango v Wondai match; and then at 10:50am with another U10s match: Cherbourg v Murgon. At 11:25am there'll be a string of three U12s matches: Kingaroy v Nanango; then Murgon v Wondai; and then Cherbourg v Combined. And at 1:40pm, there'll be an U14s match between Kingaroy and Wondai, followed at 2:25pm by an U18s clash between Cherbourg and Kingaroy/Murgon. The first A-Grade game of the day - Murgon v Gayndah - will be played at 3:25pm; and the second - Cherbourg v Kingaroy - will kick off at 4:35pm. Spectators and supporters are very welcome at all matches.
RSPCA Outdoor Movie Night - Kingaroy

 
The Kingaroy RSPCA will be holding an Outdoor Movie Night in Kingaroy's Memorial Park at 5:30pm this evening as a fundraiser for their animal shelter. The feature movie will be the family comedy "Furry Vengeance" (you can see a trailer above) and there'll be popcorn, chocolate, hot drinkis and slushies available to prchase in the grounds - just BYO blanket or chairs to sit on. Tickets are $13 for adults, $7 for children or $35 for a family pass. Everyone is welcome!
Psychic Fair - Nanango
The South Burnett Spiritualist Church will be holding a Psychic Fair at the QCWA Hall in Fitzroy Street, Nanango from 9:00am to 3:00pm today. Psychic readers will be attending from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Nanango and you can get a reading for $20 or a bit of healing for a gold coin donation. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy

Cooranga North Campdraft
The annual Cooranga North Campdraft will be held at the Cooranga North Recreation Reserve on the Kingaroy-Jandowae Road at Cooranga North from early this morning through until late this afternoon. There'll be four drafts - a Maiden, a Junior, a Juvenile and Novice - and a bar and canteen will be operating all day. There'll be live entertainment after the campdraft too. Saturday Afternoon Judo
The Murgon Judo Club will be holding its regular Saturday afternoon training session at the Salvation Army Hall in Macalister Street, Murgon today.
