2015 Wine & Food In The Park Festival
The 16th annual Wine & Food In The Park Festival will be held at Memorial Park in Haly Street, Kingaroy from 12:00 noon this morning through to 8:00pm tonight. The Festival has steadily grown over the years the biggest single festival held in the South Burnett as well as the region's most loved Autumn get-together, and this year's WAFITP promises to be bigger and better than ever. This year the Festival will feature all its regular attractions (such as the Giant Wine Tent, exotic Food Court, wet bar and a jam-packed program of live entertainment) along with several new things including an on-grounds Dinner Under The Stars (held last night); craft beers; several Central Burnett wineries alongside well-known local faces; and beer tent entertainment in addition to the main stage acts. The Festival's popular - and usually outrageous! - street performers will also be wending their way through the crowds all day, and there'll also be carnival rides for children on the grounds too. Admission is just $15 per head for adults (and under-18s can get in for free!). And after the Festival winds down most local entertainment venues in Kingaroy will be holding post-WAFITP parties for revellers who want to carry on into the night. You can find out anything else you'd like to know about this year's Wine & Food In The Park Festival (as well as see YouTube videos of many of the entertainers who'll be appearing there today) on the Festival's website.

There'll also be a bar, BBQ, and the Luncheon Hall in operation, along with the lively Wine & Cheese Bar plus full Sky-TV race meeting coverage and a vigorous betting ring. A special feature of the six-race card will be foot races for men, women and children for cash prizes. Saturday Cricket
- There's a big day of cricket coming up in the South Burnett today. In the A Grade competition, today's semi-final match at the Wondai cricket grounds between the Wondai Wolves and Kingaroy's RSL Services should be a nail-biter. Both teams are in fine form and the winner is anybody's guess - but whoever it is, they'll be facing off against Murgon in the season final at the Murgon Sportsgrounds next week in a bumper cricketing reunion day being planned by the Murgon Cricket Club. And in the B Grade Final that's being played at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy, the indomitable Kumbia Rattlers will be playing against the indefatigable Warriors for 2014-15 season honours. Again, the winner is anybody's guess - but spectators and supporters are very welcome at all games, and you should see some excellent cricket.
Pre-Season Rugby League - Nanango
- South Burnett Rugby League is starting to gear up ahead of the start of the main competition, and a series of pre-season games will be played at Nanango’s Fred Kassulke Oval today. The U18 and Seniors games are selection trials for the 47th Battalion U20s and Seniors teams, but the rest are just for fun. You can get the full games schedule on our website.
