Art Exhibition Opening - Kingaroy
- The Kingaroy Art Gallery in Haly Street (opposite the peanut silos) will be opening their November exhibition with a wine and cheese tasting at 10:30am this morning. This month the gallery will be hosting the third outing of their annual "South Burnett On The Wall" exhibition - and showcase of where many of the region's best artists are at right now - and it features works in painting, photography, paper tole, hand-women rugs and more from 36 different South Burnett artists. After this morning's opening the exhibition will remain on display from 9:00am to 4:30pm on weekdays and 10:00am to 4:00pm on weekends until the end of the month. Castra Bus Linen Party Fundraiser - Murgon
- A Lorraine Lea linen party will be held at the Castra Recreation Room at 2 Cooper Street in Murgon today (1:45pm for a 2:00pm start). The linen party is being organised by local Lorraine Lea consultant Rose Maquire, and 20% of today's sales will be donated towards Murgon Rotary's current appeal to buy a new bus for Castra. An Evening With Jeff Hancox - Blackbutt
- The South Burnett's very own Elvis (aka Jeff Hancox) will be performing at a special fundraising evening at the Blackbutt Community Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 6:30pm until late tonight. Jeff's show will be raising funds to outfit him for the next annual Elvis competition - not cheap! - and tickets to tonight's show are just $10. A licensed bar will be operating too. - The third round of the South Burnett's A Grade cricket competition will be played in Kingaroy today, with Services playing Murgon and Warriors playing Wondai. Meanwhile, the second round of the B Grade competition will be played: Murgon Colts v Services; Kumbia v Barambah; and Kumbia v Murgon Diggers. Spectators and supporters are very welcome at all games.
You're Not Alone Fundraising Ball - Wondai
- The You're Not Alone Fundraising Ball will be held at the Wondai Town Hall in Mackenzie Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. The ball is a fundraiser for Beyond Blue and will feature a three-course meal, licensed bar, charity auction, continuous raffle, Nancy Jayde's photo booth and live entertainment by popular local band Deal'n.
