Tanduringie State School P&C Bush Dance - Maidenwell
Here's something different! The Tanduringie State School P&C will be holding their 7th annual, dinki-di Bush Dance at Maidenwell Hall from 6:30pm to around 10:30pm this evening as a fundraiser. Well-known bush band Ridgi Didge will be providing the music, a licensed bar will be operating and guests are invited to bring along a plate of food for a shared community supper. This dance is always a great family night out and tickets - which we be available at the door - are still only $10 for adults, $5 for children or $25 for a family. Everyone is welcome!
Friendship Markets - Kingaroy
The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Senior Citizens Centre in Avoca Street, Kingaroy from 6:30am to around 12:00pm today. The markets feature an array of arts, crafts, fruit and flower stalls and new stallholders are always very welcome! More details? Phone Doug on (07) 4162-7300.
Black & White Quiz Night - Nanango
St Patrick's Primary School will be holding their popular annual Quiz Night at St Patrick's School Hall at 16 Alfred Street in Nanango from 6:30pm until late tonight as a fundraiser. This year's theme is "Black & White" and there'll be great prizes on offer for the best-dressed teams of six, as well as cash prizes for winning teams and lots of other fun things too. Admission is still just $10 per head and attendees should be aged 15 or higher. You'll also need to BYO beverages and/or food - but a great night out is guaranteed! More details and/or bookings? Matti Biskit - Nanango

QCWA Young Girls' Craft Group - Kingaroy
The QCWA Young Girls' Craft Group will be holding their regular third Saturday of the month meeting at the QCWA Rooms in Kingaroy Street, Kingaroy (just next to the RSL) from 1:00pm to 4:00pm this afternoon. The group is for young girls aged 10 years and older, who can learn useful crafts and home skills such as sewing, knitting, crochet, cooking, healthy eating, catering and presentation under the supervision of QCWA ladies and a supervisor. There's a small $2 charge each day to cover the cost of goods used, but all young girls are very welcome. Bowls Club Bingo - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Bowls Club at 141 Youngman St, Kingaroy will be running bingo matches from 7:30pm this evening with over $1000 in prizes on offer. More details from the club on (07) 4162-1404
Lucas Oils Kingaroy Speedway
The South Burnett Speedway will be roaring into life at the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 4:00pm this afternoon with the second meeting of their 2014-15 season. Tonight's meeting will feature Late Models racing in the Zoe Girdlestone Memorial, along with Modified Sedans, 4 Cylinder Sedans, Production Sedans and Formula 500's racing in Round 3 of the Tyrepower Super 600 Series. Tonight's meeting will be offering discounted admission prices of $15 for adults (normally $25), $10 for students and pensioners (normally $15 - but bring your ID) or $40 for a family pass (2 adults plus three students, normally $65), and under-12s can still get in for free. Saturday Cricket
The fourth round of the South Burnett's A Grade cricket competition will be played in Nanango and Murgon today, with Nanango playing RSL Services in Nanango and Wondai playing Murgon in Wondai. Meanwhile, the third round of the B Grade competition will also be played: Warriors will play Murgon Colts at Lyle Vidler Oval in Kingaroy; and Murgon Diggers will play Barambah at Murgon. Spectators and supporters are very welcome at all games.
Al Kirsch - Kingaroy
Christian comedian Al Kirsch will be performing at the Highway Christian Church at the corner of Edenvale Road and the D'Aguilar Highway south of Kingaroy at 7:00pm tonight in a fundraiser for Destiny Rescue. Admission is $15 and tickets will be available at the door.
South Burnett Woodcrafters - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Woodcrafters will be holding their regular Saturday morning meeting at their clubhouse, which is located behind the Kingaroy Visitor Information Centre in Haly Street from 8:00am to around mid-day today. 2nd Annual Blackbutt Mug
CANCELLED: The Blackbutt-Benarkin Community Council will be hosting the 2nd annual "Blackbutt Mug" (a follow-up to Melbourne Cup Day) at the Blackbutt Memorial Hall in Coulson Street, Blackbutt from 7:00pm to around 11:00pm this evening as a fundraiser for local charities. There'll be seven "races" (including a Calcutta on the last race); a Fashions Of The Field competition; a raffle; and a licensed bar and catering. Admission is free and everyone is welcome! Note: This event was cancelled on Tuesday, November 11.
