South Burnett CTC - Working For Our Community
Two One Act Plays - Nanango
The Nanango Theatre Company will be presenting the first performance of their final production for the year at the Nanango Theatre House at the corner of Elk and George Streets, Nanango at 7:00pm tonight (show starts at 7:30pm sharp). This evening's performances will be two one-act plays - "The Package" and "Remains To Be Seen" - and will include supper. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for pensioners or students, and can be obtained in advance from the Nanango Visitor Information Centre in Henry Street, Nanango or at the door tonight. Greet, Meet & Eat - Yarraman
A "Greet, Meet & Eat" social function will be held at St Philip's Anglican Church Hall in Millar Street, Yarraman from 10:00am until around 1:00pm today. The group was formed in May 2012 to provide a safe place where locals from Yaraman, Blackbutt and Cooyar could get together, enjoy each other's company and meet others in a low-cost way, and it's met on the third Friday of each month ever since (except for December and January). Today's meeting will kick off at 10:00am with a cuppa and will be followed by a three-course lunch at 12:00 noon. Mayor's Charity Golf Day - Kingaroy
A Charity Golf Day to raise funds for the Mayor's Community Benefit Fund will be held at the Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway south-west of Kingaroy from 10:00am onwards today. Former Kangaroo, Maroon and Bronco rugby league player Shane Webcke will be a special guest, and there'll also be an auction during the course of the event. Team nominations for today's get-togther were filled on Friday, November 14.
Friday Night With The Sultan Of Sax - Wondai
The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing on the rear deck of the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Nanango Readers & Writers Group Meeting
The Nanango Readers & Writers Group will be holding a meeting at the Country Focus building at 41 Drayton Street, Nanango (opposite Nanango Library) at 9:30am this morning. The NRWG is an informal discussion group for anyone interested in reading and/or writing any form of literature or drama, and it meets on the first and third Fridays of each month. Today is the last day of high school for Year 12 students, who have to attend today to be eligible to receive a QCE and an OP. OPs will bed published on December 20.
Friday Night Darts - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular weekly Social Competition Night from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. This is a 3-a-side event with a $5 playing fee, and a fully licensed bar will be operating along with raffles. New players are always very welcome, and the club caters for all skill levels from novice to expert. The shed is open to all men who'd enjoy the companionship of other men while undertaking woodwork, metalwork or similar projects or who'd just enjoy a chat. More details? South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
