Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their tenth monthly exhibition for 2014 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm tonight. This month the gallery will be hosting four different exhibitions. South Burnett artist Romaine Undery will be exhibiting nature-focussed, mixed media works in the Main Gallery; the Graham House Spinners and Weavers Group will be presenting an exhibition of spinning, weaving, dyeing, knitting and crocheted craft works in the Front Gallery; artist Milly Hine will have a small exhibition of works composed using acrylic paints, collage, textural mediums, oil paints, canvas, board and hessian in the Third Gallery; and children from Kumbia State School will be exhibiting in Kidz Korner. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great hot and cold finger foods and punch, along with wine tastings from a South Burnett winery, live entertainment and lots of fun socialising. Bedlam - Kingaroy

Friday Night Live - Murgon
The South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon will be holding another of their "Friday Night Live" sessions from 6:00pm to 9:00pm this evening. Friday Night Live is open to all primary school and high school students and the get-together features music and a range of fun activities that may include any or all of the following: a jumping castle, crazy hair, ten pin bowling, dodge ball, basketball, cricket, pool tables, Xbox games, karaoke, stadium games, face painting, noodle wars, art, sport and much more. Mission Morning - Kingaroy
The Salvation Army will be holding a ladies-only Mission Morning at their headquarters at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy at 10:00am. Major Michelle Oliver will be a special guest speaker, and she'll be talking about the Tanzania Missionary Project. Admission is $10 (all proceeds go to the missionary project) and for catering purposes, an RSVP by November 4 would be greatly appreciated. Dinner & Barefoot Bowls - Murgon
Here's something different! The Murgon Bowls Club in Macalister Street will be holding a Barefoot Bowls & Dinner Evening from 4:00pm until late tonight (dinner will be seved around 6:00pm). For just $10 per head, guests at this fully licensed event can get to enjoy a choice of two mains and two desserts, then get out on the greens for some fun games of bowls in the beautiful Spring air. The first time the bowls club held this event last month over 54 people turned up, and this will be the last one until February or March next year - so if you don't go tonight you'll be waiting several months for the next one. Country Music Practice Night - Nanango
The Nanango Country Music Friends will be holding their weekly practice night at the Wesleyan Church in Cairns Street, Nanango at 6:30pm this evening. The group is open to people of all skill levels who enjoy playing country music, and you can find out more details by phoning (07) 4163-2469.
Kingaroy State High School End of Year Concert
Kingaroy State High School will be holding their End of Year Concert at Kingaroy Town Hall from 5:30pm to 9:00pm this evening. This year's concert will have a "This Is Disney" theme and will feature performances of many famous Disney themes from Frozen, Mary Poppins, Pirates of the Caribbean, 101 Dalmatians, Toy Story, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid and more by the school's Big Band, Stage Band, Wind Ensemble and Concert Band. The evening will start with a sausage sizzle at 5:30pm and the concert will get underway at 6:00pm. Tickets can be pre-purchased from the high school or the Kingaroy Photo Lab in Kingaroy Street for $5 each or $20 per family, but they'll be $8 at the door tonight. Endeavour Foundation Bingo - Kingaroy
The Endeavour Foundation will be holding bingo games at Kingaroy RSL from 10:00am this morning (eyes down at 10:30am). There'll be four jackpots on offer, along with book games and raffles, and proceeds will go to help people with an intellectual disability. Everyone is welcome. More details? Friday Night With The Sultan Of Sax - Wondai
The South Burnett's very own "Sultan Of Sax" Tom McKenzie will be playing on the rear deck of the Wondai Hotel & Cellars in Haly Street, Wondai from 6:00pm until late tonight. Men's Shed - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Men's Shed will be open from 9:00am to 12:00 noon and 2:00pm to 4:00pm today behind the Salvation Army's headquarters at 44 Alford Street in Kingaroy. The shed is open to all men who'd enjoy the companionship of other men while undertaking woodwork, metalwork or similar projects or who'd just enjoy a chat. More details? Friday Social Golf - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Golf Club on the Bunya Highway at Kingaroy will holding their regular Friday 9-ers 9 hole social golfing sessions for men and women from 8:00am until dusk today. Everyone is most welcome (including non-members) and green fees are $11 for members or $14 for non-members for the nine holes - but this also includes a card draw for prizes in the clubhouse in the evening (there's also a Jackpot card draw on the last Friday of each month). The South Burnett Darts Association will be holding their regular weekly Social Competition Night from 7:00pm to 10:00pm at their premises at Shed 1, 18 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. This is a 3-a-side event with a $5 playing fee, and a fully licensed bar will be operating along with raffles. New players are always very welcome, and the club caters for all skill levels from novice to expert. The Nanango Readers & Writers Group will be holding a meeting at the Country Focus building at 41 Drayton Street, Nanango (opposite Nanango Library) at 9:30am this morning. The NRWG is an informal discussion group for anyone interested in reading and/or writing any form of literature or drama, and it meets on the first and third Fridays of each month. South Burnett Pantry - Kingaroy
The South Burnett Pantry will be open from 11:00am to 1:00pm today at 22 Stolzenberg Road in Kingaroy. The Pantry is a not-for-profit registered charity run by a Board of Management and staffed by volunteers, and it helps low income families, couples and singles stretch their shopping dollar further. The Pantry offers $35 pantry hampers that contain most of the food and personal cleaning items that most people need to get through part of the week (though you'll need to shop elsewhere for extras or special items).
