Art Exhibition Opening - Wondai
The Wondai Regional Art Gallery on the roundabout at Wondai will be opening their sixth monthly exhibition for 2012 with a wine and cheese tasting at 6:00pm this evening. Tonight's exhibition will showcase the works of well-known South Burnett artist Garry Eye (pictured at right) in the Main Gallery. Garry has been a practising artist and art teacher for more than 30 years, executing works in a wide variety of media, and tonight's exhibition will be a retrospective showcasing his output (including a number of works from Garry's private collecton that have rarely - or never - been on public display before). The Front Gallery, meanwhile, will feature pastel and acrylic works by Julie Postle which will be complemented by found object works crafted by Sue Postle; and the Third Gallery will feature Aboriginal artworks (including some painted onto small round saw blades) by talented indigenous artist Peter Carlo, while works by students from St Joseph's School in Murgon will be featured in Kidz Korner. As usual, tonight's opening will also feature great finger foods and wine tastings, which this month will be supplied by Moffatdale Ridge. Admission is $5 and everyone is very welcome to attend!
